Yeah as one of the other commenters mentioned, there is such an ignorance that they have due to their affluent upbringing since I think a lot of us can relate to Haruhi in a way that yeah we can afford luxury stuff except only once in a while, but that certainly doesn't mean she's poor in the way that they are thinking.

2023-08-06 20:23:20 +0000 UTCThat's just cause girls tend to respond more to romance and boys more to sexuality. In the end, it's just meant to be a fantasy for the viewer. I'm a big fanservice advocate, but I enjoy when it's delivered equally. That was one if the few things I think Fairy Tail did well, was keep the fanservice target balanced. I'm genuinely happy for girls when they have solid fanservice in a series, and think it's awful when they feel guilt over it. Just enjoy it.

2023-08-06 18:14:50 +0000 UTCShojo manga does tend to have a lot of... debauchery and reverse harems, there's a lot of risky things in those types of manga, to be fair, Shonen series tend to have a lot of harems as well, and Shojo tends to be more romance focused so it makes sense, one of the current big Shojo's is My Next Life as a Villainess, and that has a pretty big harem. In the manga we actually knew Haruhi's dad was a crossdresser and that him and Kyoya talked long before meeting him, so the only one who was really surprised was Tamaki but I kind of prefer the surprise they give in the anime honestly lol, also it was one of the twins who dropped the banana peel.
