2023-06-23 16:46:58 +0000 UTCThink why the Droids work is they are very self aware. Stuff like "Have you ever killed a Jedi before? No? Me Neither" makes them seem like their cannon fodder status is kinda sad as they clearly are just doing their job. Plus they don't actually balls things up hard so is easier to enjoy their clutzy moments. A successful comic relief often is the butt of the joke and they pay for their stupidity to the exclusion of everyone else. A bad comic relief causes more problems and makes you want them gone. Konata of Lucky Star summed it up pretty nicely when Kagami jokingly wondered if Konata pretends to be clumsy and incompetent at her Cosplay Cafe Job in order to earn Moe points. Konata responded realistically about how doing such a thing, no matter the job would earn you contempt from customers and the employer as well as getting fired.

2023-06-23 13:40:41 +0000 UTCyou might actually recognize Hondo the pirates voice Curtis, it's Jim Cummings, he's actually a very prolific voice actor, especially for Disney, he's been in too many roles to list them all, but some you'd recognize are his roles as Pete in Mickey Mouse cartoons since the 90s, and also he's the voice actor for Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.
