3:27 "The way of the fist is to make entrances BIGGER, and always to use the back door."
3:49 "Smell that?" "That's just Master Fisto's Fist-o. You uhhh, you get used to it."
I've been slacking lately, needed to do two jokes.

Oh remember when Grievous first showed up, this was the episode that I mentioned that looks like it cannonized one of his origin story, the one where he starts replacing his body parts with robotics to help him hunt down the Jedi. The statues you saw was of him as he slowly changed.

An excellent point, Carsten! Its true that their practice of detachment is a huge component of why Anakin falls. Instead of tempering attachment they dismiss it outright. Which makes it all the more special how Luke uses familial compassion to eventually turn his father back to the light. Just my two cents

Yes, there are arcs in the future where characters turn heel. I can see where they are coming from.

The genre of music that the Cantina Band plays in the first movie is called Jizz. George Lucas loves Jizz.

Force users unfortunately also run the risk of becoming tempted by or turning to the dark side when killing out of emotion. This is why it is highly discouraged for Jedi to do so. Their entire organization is structured based on "abstinence", so to speak. Hasn't always lead to the best results.

Fun fact this episode was directed by Atsushi Takeuchi who was an Anime animator that had worked on some of the One Piece movies as well as Ghost in the Shell. The fight between Fisto and Grievous is arguably the best animated duel in S1.

This notion that the Jedi Order can be hypocritical, that it has its flaws, and had no right leading troops into battle, will be something you notice throughout the series if you pay close attention.
Sun Tzu said that “It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on.”
It's interesting to see this acknowledged. If you are too worried about the death of a single soldier, than you might very well put an entire platoon into jeopardy by not taking the risks necessary and acting without tact.
However, in the case of just jumping out and slicing Grievous, I think what might be the goal in most cases, as it is with Ventress or Gunray, the Jedi prefer to capture the Seperatist leaders alive. Information on the war, in their minds, can be more valuable than the capture of enemy leaders. So they can bring an end to the war. Given the current circumstance, they should have probably focused on calling in reinforcements immediately after finding out where they are, and then prioritized trying to capture Grievous.
Even so, if I were Misto Fisto, I would probably, yes, realize how unrealistic the capture of Grievous is and just be like we need to just end this and destroy him, its not worth the risk of letting him go to kill more Jedi.

I would agree that the original animated Grievous is a much more interesting depiction, but if we take the first 6 movies in the saga to be the foundation of star wars lore, then this more recent depiction of Grievous fits far better, as he is more of a general and less of a Jedi hunter, running off when he no longer has the upper hand and fighting dirty rather than more skillfully, in some ways. I would say the greater problem is that when he takes out 4 lightsabers it should absolutely be game over for most jedi, because he has so many opportunities to swipe at their feet or disarm them. His ruthlessness and victories in the original Clone Wars cartoon helps this problem, but it definitely still is an issue for both. Just putting that out there

There is an animated (as in cartoon) clone wars series that aired around the same time as this show, and it shows an encounter between a group of Jedi and Grievous and he was an absolute badass, able to take on multiple Jedi at the same time, he also talks far less. He ends up going up against Mace Windu later on and gets wounded by him which is how he gets his persistent cough. He then transitions to the more cowardly version that we get in this show. It's a pity we didn't keep the badass version of him, it was actually pretty cool.
