This is a pretty badass, intimidating weapon Beardsley has come up with!

“We’re clones. We’re not meant to be expendable.” Plo Koon: “Not to Me”.

you know for a kids show they have a shockingly high body count, I mean, even the film had a platter of severed heads given to Jabba, and you see them lol.

Time for yet another fun movie tidbit! This show actually takes place in between the second and third movies of the prequel trilogy. In the third, Anakin makes a joke to General Grevious (you were right, that is who we saw this episode) quipping that Grevious was uglier than he expected, which implies he's never actually met Grevious in person before. Just because of that one little line, the writers of this show made sure that throughout all 8 seasons, Anakin never once actually sees what General Grevious looks like. All of their interactions are like this episode, where they're fighting against each other in ship to ship combat but don't even know it.

Pretty intimidating weapon!

I think in the future we in reality will make ion weapons, looking at the Ukraine war there is massive amount of drones and smart bombs. Currently both sides are using large jammers to throw the smart bombs off their target (specifically Russia has been good at this) but also interesting is the use of counter drone guns by soldiers to disable drones from the sky. We might just be in the infancy of ion weapons.

WHOLESOME DEUS

Ion weapons become much more common later in the Star Wars universe by the time the original movies take place (Jawas disable R2D2 with a small ion blaster in the first movie). But this might be the first case of a large scale Ion weapon being used in war, which lead to them being further developed as time passed. Its use is pretty obvious, given that it can effectively bypass shields when powerful enough, and a disabled ship/droid/vehicle is easy pickings in the middle of battle.
