Instagram Q & A 8/4/2024

Q: What supps/ food etc do you recommend or take for brain health ?

A: I've been experimenting around with the plasmalogens a lot recently. Maily the omega-9 (ProdromeGlial is the brand). Those seem to make a fairly noticeble difference in cognition for me. Ive also been using CregAAtine which is a form of creatine that appears (based on some small studies) to get taken up preferentially more in the gray matter of the brain. Creatine in general is great for cognition though. I dont really take a lot of specific supplements for brain health or performance though. Cognition usually comes along for the ride when you get enough sun (especially in the morning) clean up the gut, get enough sleep, remove artifical light at night, supplement maybe with some basic key nutrients (mag for some, B-vitamins) and eat well-balanced meals. It can be useful for some to play around with nootropics but thats more icing on the cake. i think shilajit is a great one and its already apart of some of my core recs. I only recommend getting the mitolife shilajit (you can find it under the mitolife tab in bio)

Q: Opinion on functional patterns being able to change bones with wolf's law to heal impingement?

A:

Functional Patterns is literally just normal exercise with more steps. Go watch some of naudi's videos where he's doing exercises like chest fly's on a cable machine lol. Or all the isolated glute exercises hes having people do now. I watched a video a couple weeks ago of him doing a one arm overhead press (almost like an old school strongman side press).

He just slaps fanciful narratives onto nornal exercises and then throws in a couple weird, irrelevant movements or a backsards step and claims its something new i actually really like his cable machine and the RG bar he sells. There are things in functional patterns that are 'good'. But they're not good because they're FP. They're good simply because they're nornal forms of exercise, executed with an eye for certain details. Literally any form of exercise 'changes bone' through Wollfs Law Imao

Q: How would you deal with receding gums and oral bone loss?

A:

I have a lot of resouces post up on the oral health protocol on the patreon.

Really depends on the cause. Oral red light therapy devices (basically looks like one of those tooth whitening kits but with red light) can be helpful for slowing and stoping gum loss when you combine it with other lifestyle modifications. Vitqmin K (i like the mitolife brand) can also be low hanging fruit for bones and remineralization. I had one person who messaged me saying they avoided gum surgery from following some of the recs in the guide.

Its not medical advice and i can't claim itll do the same for you but it might be worth looking into.

Q: Have you helped anyone with a biotoxic illness? From mold to be exact.

A: Yes. A lot of people with mold dont have a good foundation before they begin more advanced treatment (poor bile flow, poor gallbaladar function, poor liver function etc) which I help a lot of people address. For less severe cases, thats sometimes all some people need. Id recommend a one on one consult first. Theres no one size fits all approach

Q: How's solid is science on iridology.

A: Its not solid at all. And im not affraid to say that.

Its mostly anecdotal case reports. But heres the thing — I've done iridology 'exams' close to 50x now. EVERY single time I do a course of thymalin, i have (according to the iridologist) some slight lymphatic congestion in the neck and an 'active' actively promoting the maturation anthymalin is differentiation of T lymphocytes in the thymus gland). Ive re-conducted this 'experiment' numerous times with thymalin before having an appontment and it’s the only time that's 'evident'. Ive also seen this in two other individuals. Ive also had 5 clients who had a disc herniation accurately diagnosed hy an iridologist (coroberated with an MRI), 7 cases of accurate mitral valve prolapse diagnosed (confirmed via cardiac ultrasound and echo), 4 lambrum shoulder tears (confirmed through MRI) and legitatemly hundreds of small symptoms and issues that lined up almost entirely with subjectivr patient symptoms. If i sat here and listed all of near impossible 'coincidences' ive seen with iridology, i could probably write a book on it. Yes its ancedotal. I dont care

Q: Without it being a protocol - what can someone with a family history of Alzheimer's do (1/2)

A: Look into Dayan Goodenowe work on plasmalogen replacement therapy as well as the epidemiological data on relationship between low plasmalogens and dementia. His book Breaking Alzheimers is really good (if you're interested in really understanding the research and biology) and he also has a ton of good YouTube lectures and interviews. Plasmalogen replacement therapy is one thing i feel comfortable recommending to most people because the upsides (from literally just doing that alone) can be fuckin massive. And there's no side effects associated with it. PRT is also very useful in other neurlogical conditions like ALS, MS, and autism. Plasmalogens seem to almost entirely offset dementia/alz risk even if you have ApoE

Q: Anything you think that can actually help with recovery?

A: I haven’t found a lot of things that meaninfully impact DOMS aside from high dosing the pro-resolving mediators. CO2 therapy (baths and full body bag) also seem to make a noticeable difference (i have an article up on the patreon for how to do C02 bath as well as some higher end devices for it as well). I also have a hunch that doing EWOT (exercise with oxygen) on your zone 2 (non lifting days) can help. Ive been doing that as an experiment the past couple months and I'm like 50% sure it has a benefit.

Im not sure if thats from the oxygen itself or some of the downstream benefits it has on mitchondrial, metabolism and sleep quality... but it seems to be doing something noticeable.

Q: Do you medicine is further behind that other fields

A: It is from a paradigms perspective in some regards. At least when you're comparing it to other fields like physics. I mean Einstein, Bohr, and others in the early 20th century transitioned into a relativistic framework and emphasized 'interconnectedness' over simple cause and effect relarionships ffs.

Jung (and the Russians) later extended that perspective to psychology. But it wasn't until the end of the century that this 'holistic POV' trickled down and actually permeated fields like physical medicin. And a lot of what we do (from a pracrical perspective) still opperates in a very 'fragmented' manner to this day.

Q: Can you explain the big vs small picture thing you mentioned before about science

A: Every physician and researcher should be forced to take some basic courses on things like philosophy and frame theory. The nested and hierarchical nature of frames (or lenses through which we perceive different pieces of information like science vs evidence based medicine) leads to potential conflicts, especially when different frames have varying interpretations of constants and variables.

The simplistic idea of a single, global set of layers or rules is inadequate to capture the intricacies of frame interactions. And this is what a lot of evidence based influencers can't grasp — there is no hard set of 'rules' for evaluating wether something is valuable or not. It's not as simple as just having a meta-analysis. You have to consider multiple different 'frames' (like patient values, severity of condition, ALL avaliable evidence) and the interplay between each one of those pieces (frames), which is dynamic and constantly evolving. nested frames requires a deep understanding of the context and the hierarchical structure of each individual frame as well

Q: What do you recommend to get similar effects of coffee without irritating the gut? (I have IBD)

A: As far as what specifically? The energy benefits? You could always try something like a paraxanthine supplement.

Paraxanthine is a metabolite of caffeine, which means it is produced in the body as caffeine is broken down. Paraxanthine can have some similar stimulant like effects comparitively to caffeine but typically without the jitters. I even think there are some 'decaf' brands that actually make coffee with it added back in there. A lot of people seem to tolerate that better all around (Gl included)

Q: Will you be releasing a dementia or CFS protocol?

A: As much as I love sharing things that can help people, releasing a set 'protocol' for something as serious/ complex as CFS or dementia would be criminal. There is no 'protocol'.

Especially for something like CFS where a miracle compound for one person could be a nightmare for another. My ultimate goal with the patreon is to have a large database where people can find things they can experiment with.

Because on the flip side of that, I do believe there are single modalities and supplements that can be an absolute miracle for getting some people back on their feet and moving in the right direction. So no. I wont be making a set protocol like i have for less serious issues like candida. I will be posting some resouces though. I do work with a lot of CFS clients one on one though!

And yes check dental protocol

I think with this form the 2g is enough since it’s absorbing better

Also regarding Cregaatine, for brain health specifically, it is my understanding for Creatine 3-5g daily is optimal, however for Cregaatine the dosing instruction is 1 scoop (2g) and 2 scoops (4g) on workout days. If using this specifically for brain health, would it follow the same 4g guidelines as Creatine?

Ally

Heyy .. is there an oral red light therapy device that you suggest?
