Dev Update – R7.5 Plans

Hey all, now that R7 is out and everything has calmed down, it’s time I went over the plan for R7.5. First I’ll just apologise again for how long R7 took. Things really got out of hand, and it wasn’t until the end of the month that I realised just how overboard I’d gone in many ways.

Going forward I’m going to try and do things a bit differently, though you likely won’t notice anything other than the Releases coming out in a more predictable manner. It’s already May, and we’ve only had R6.5 and R7 come out this year. Both have been quite substantial. But still I don’t think that kind of frequency is good enough.

Scheduling

My initial reason for delaying R7 was the conflict with the end of the month and charging people. I’d like to just kill this problem outright as it does really just complicate matters. So going forward I’m going to try and limit the development periods like this:

.5 Release – 1 month

.0 Release – 2 months

Real simple stuff, makes you wonder why I never did this. Anyway, this should keep everything coming out early on, and give me a stricter timetable to adhere to. We shall see how long it lasts!

I am of course not going to use this as an excuse to put out crap. Behind the scenes I’m planning things out differently, in a way that should hopefully keep us on track and ensure that what gets done in these time-frames is still up to the standard.

This of course means that 7.5 will be coming out early next month.

7.5 Content

So 7.5 is going to be focused on expanding the club. I’ve mentioned this before, but what is actually coming? These are the main features I’m looking to do:

Jen VIP Room

Mel Stripping

New Club Upgrades

Club Promo/Story Continuation

Mel VIP Room

This is a rough priority. Mel VIP might be a touch ambitious but I’ll be able to clarify its addition further into development. On top of this are some other ideas, to be included as time permits. But I won’t mention them until I know they’ll be a thing.

I’ll talk about this stuff in greater detail in future update posts.

Lydia Poll + Her Future

Some time soon, possibly in the next couple weeks, I’ll be doing another general poll to help decide Lydia’s future content. Those of you who have been around for awhile might remember I did a poll for Jen’s content and used that to help prioritize what to work on. This poll will do the same for Lydia (and the characters associated with her).

With the point Lydia’s story has reached, and the sheer amount of time it took to get R7 done, I’ll be doing her future content in bite sized chunks, much like with Jen. So you guys will help decide what to prioritize, then I’ll deliver alongside work on the newer characters. You’ve already seen Atonia, and a new one will be coming very soon.

So keep an eye out for that. There should be a high tier exclusive poll for 7.5 at some point as well. I'll be back with another post in the typical timeframe. Until then, thank you all for the continued support!
