Dev Update R5 #2

Hey! I’ve been a little quiet lately, I try to do these updates every 2 weeks or so but I’ve had to keep pushing this one back until I was fairly sure what was going to happen in R5.

As I mentioned in the last one, the sticking point is what I was going to do on top of the gym girl content. Sad to say, I still don’t have a definitive answer, but there’s a little more to it than that.

I don’t want this to sound worse than it actually is, overall I’m actually very happy with how the R5 content is progressing. The work has been very refreshing and enjoyable for me, I can only hope this translates into you guys enjoying it also!

The Poll

First I wanted to mention the poll, thanks to everyone who has responded so far, and to those of you who posted extra comments/feedback. It really helps me a lot.

The poll isn’t closed yet, so I won’t make any solid judgments until I do a result post where we take a detailed look and can establish a sort of “official” priority for the Jen content going forward.

One thing that’s interesting is that the modelling/porn career stuff is doing very well. I actually have an idea for this, you know I love to over complicate everything and I refuse to learn the lesson. This is actually a possibility for the additional content in R5, but it’s largely going to come down to time constraints towards the end of development. I won’t go into details until I know it’s actually coming for sure.

Gym Girl Changes

I said for this Release I wanted to get her to the point of unlocking her sandbox gameplay. Well, I’ve basically already gone a little past that. Because I’ve decided to just go balls deep on this content for R5.

Basically the sandbox style stuff (unlocking her home, taking actions throughout the day, that kind of thing) will be available in R5. It’ll still be very light on sexual content, which is a bit of an issue, but I hope I’ve made it interesting enough anyway.

Oh yeah, I never mentioned this, but this content is actually two characters of sort. She’s got somebody close that also needs a little attention. She’s already featuring in the content I’ve created so far, but I’ll be prioritizing the girl teased in R4, at least as the daily interaction stuff goes. But this extra character is a bit more in line with Jen, for those of you who are fans ;)

Content Done So Far

First of all there will be a somewhat linear progression at the gym, where you’ll get to know her a little bit better as you progress the fitness skill. My intention right now is the skill will give you some additional energy from the typical sources (not yet implemented).

You’ll run into the first story content fairly quick, a simple introduction. From there more gym based events where you’ll have the dialogue choices that’ll determine how fast you progress. It’s the typical grind the points until you get the next story kinda deal, but in lieu of daily interactions you got some choice based stuff.

From there you got a couple back to back story events (one is way too long) to unlock her home, and meet the other character. Much like with early Mel, these story events are shared over both the love and lewd paths, but you’ll get some dialogue changes based on your choices. I’d like to have distinct love/lewd story events for R5, but can’t promise it yet. Will keep you posted.

Content left to do

Basically it’s just a matter of how much daily interactions can be done in what time frame and how big they are etc. I’ve already got a daily schedule for her, so it’ll just be looking to fill it out as much as possible. This does involve a lot of background coding though on top of the content creation itself.

Might be that the other character doesn’t get any of this kind of stuff just yet, or rather just some simple things here and there. But rest assured I want to give them a fair amount down the road.

To cap it all off I’d like to do a story event for love and lewd as mentioned, but I’ll only do this if there’s ample time.

Sex System Work

I added some accessory actions that you can perform alongside the current ones (each turn you roll through the actions in turn kinda deal) which should help push Jen’s arousal gains further ahead of your own. Complete with their own images and text of course.

Still want to do some verbal based actions for R5 at the very least. Hopefully with these in place the whole system might make a little more sense, and I can continue to work on it’s depth in future releases.

Mel & Additional Content ??

I mentioned last time I was thinking about continuing Mel or even introducing an office based character. Well as you can probably work out I changed my mind, at least for R5. Both of these are long overdue, so I’ll do my best to make them happen soon. Might mean a .5 release where I just do both or something.

I’ll be doing at least 1 more dev update before R5 is due out, where I should be in a position to say for sure what else will be in R5. Right now I’m just focusing on getting the gym girl stuff finished then seeing what time is left.

Conclusion

I’m still confident about the early September date, as ever I’ll confirm a more accurate date as we get closer. For now, thanks for your support, be sure to vote in the poll if you haven’t already, and keep an eye out for the next dev update toward the end of the month!
