Switching from "Monthly" to "Per-Creation"
Added 2016-06-23 15:19:07 +0000 UTCAfter much consideration, I've decided to switch this Patreon from a monthly to
per-creation campaign. In general, completing 5 translations a month is not a problem, although it is a "near capacity" level of work for me. And since I'm just one person, when life piles on additional (albeit temporary) burdens, I find myself wishing for the flexibility that a per-creation system would allow for.
The other big change is that I am removing the 15$/month patron vouchers altogether. I'm sincerely grateful to the people who supported my work at that level, and I'm proud that I was able to provide them a service of extraordinary value ($45 per translation--for work that, in many instances, would have cost 10 times that amount).
Voting will remain the same, and I will move through the highest voted interviews in generally the same fashion, interspersing them with material I curate--generally more popular, "classic" titles that have a certain promotional value in addition to their historicity.
What you need to do!
Now that the campaign will be charging per-creation instead of per month, please remember to set the monthly limit that you're willing to pledge. (For example, if you are pledging $1/creation and I post five translations in one month, you'll be charged $5 in total for that month.) In order to do that, please read this section
I hope you continue to support me and this very important, unique work; admittedly, this change is partly driven by the pure economics of translation labor. I liked the simplicity of the monthly patronage system, but in the long term I believe this is the best way to go, and will allow me to continue sharing these treasures without fear of burnout or financial ruin.
Thank you! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions, or ask them directly in the comment section here.
