I've finally added a messageboard so patrons (and other site visitors) can know more details about the interviews in the master list. I held back from creating a forum for awhile because I enjoyed the idea of the interviews getting discussed at established communities around the net, which has happened. However, I realize it can be hard to know what to vote on each month when there are so many choices, and some of the interviews are described similarly. It isn't practicable for me to write summaries for all 1200+ interviews, so this is the next best thing.
Here are some general tips about the organization of the archive, in case it helps narrow down your choices:
- If an interview says "Interview Collection" or "Interviews", it means I have multiple distinct interviews from different sources--most likely different magazines, as popular games were featured in numerous sources.
- "Long Interview" denotes an especially in-depth look at the developer/designer/game.
- The original list had a lot of materials sourced from the GSLA. When I did my research at the library, I found ~70% of the GSLA interviews in their original magazines. This is nice because the GSLA contributors did not include the interviewer questions. Basically, the list is now much more "complete" and the interviews will, in general, be more readable.
