The truth is... he tried to enter Futaba's room without her knowing. But even he couldn't bypass the installed defence mechanisms, being quickly reduce by a shrink ray and promptly paralysed by a Zio Trap. Whilst the other Phantom Thieves are of the thought that he's out running a secret errand, the reality is that he's stuck as Futaba's slave, slowly helping her overcome her social anxiety... one stroke at a time. 6 different scenes where Joker gets used as foot-toy by Futaba to lot's of sticky-effect~
