Comments

You’re straw-manning the argument made by the people that have issues with β€˜woke’ leads.

Sonny Smith

While I try to remain positive in my comments, I feel the need to give my honest 0.02 on the detractors saying the movie wasn't good. Not everything is for everyone, which is what defines the word 'preference', and for clarity, those aren't the reviews I'm referring to. What has really disappointed me, are the ones who try to politicize just about everything on Disney+ or in movies in general. If a movie has a strong female lead, person of color, or LGBT character; certain detractors will allege that the production is "Woke" or "virtue signaling" and trying to force some political agenda on the viewer. I don't have the space to really speak my mind on that, so I'll just say (to me) these complaints reflect on the author's phobias and integrity and not so much the movie. One specific...someone in either facebook or youtube said "the producers of Falcon/Winter Soldier want whites to be ashamed of being white." -- Well...I happen to be caucasian, and I somehow didn't have such feelings. While strong female leads don't make me feel insecure of being male. On that note, strong female leads go all the back to 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope, four years before I was born. Where the princess initially needed rescuing; but then takes charge by grabbing the blaster from Han's grip, blowing open the garbage chute cover, and ordering her rescuers to follow her lead. And of course two years later with Sigourney Weaver in Alien, 1979. So...it's nothing new. If anything, I would hope these movies and characters inspire confidence in those whom truly need the encouragement. There are detractors that (for whatever reason) make up their minds to write a hateful review of a movie before they've seen it, and press play with a pen and pad at the ready to note down everything they dislike for their review. To each their own, but nothing good will come from that, other than growing old as a utterly cynical, bitter and likely very alone person that can find value or joy in anything. I'm digressing, so I'll close with my personal preference. In short, Kazzy essentially summed up what I feel makes a movie good or great. -- To add to this, my favorite movies are the ones that make me feel as if I were there WITH the characters in their situation or their immediate environment. Most of these movies also tend to have excellent scores, which brings out the deeper emotions that much more. With Black Widow, the only part of the movie that comes to mind musically was the opening credits with the Malia J & Think Up Anger cover of Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit. -- Young girls kidnapped from their families, thrown into a frightening new world, alone, where ultimately 19 out of 20 are killed for failure to adapt to the harshest of training conditions? -- The tone of that cover hit that nerve dead center. -- I found it riveting and a tad heartbreaking, because child human trafficking isn't even remotely fiction. While its mostly young boys that are kidnapped from families, conscripted and trained to fight in their countries military, rebel paramilitary, or an extremist terror cell....little girls (and boys) are kidnapped, trained, sold, bought and traded to perform slave labor and prostitution. -- Its an unpleasant topic and the last thing most wish to discuss; but I applaud the decision to bring awareness to it. Otherwise....I give the movie 7-8/10. Maybe I learned to minimize my expectations before watching a movie, but unless its Endgame or Justice League, it doesn't need to be a 10/10 masterpiece for it to be enjoyable.

I agree.....riveting πŸ”₯πŸ’œπŸ’₯πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’―

Thank YOU so much, Billy!! You don't know how much your kind words mean to me - thank you πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’•πŸ€—

The opening credits and that cover of Nirvana was riveting.

Though I had already seen the movie on day 1 of its release, what a great pleasure it was watching it once again (with you Kazzy). My only complaint was the difficulty in multi-tasking, on one hand watching the movie and following your reaction to, and keeping my eyes off of your glamourous image πŸ˜‰. I enjoyed this movie on so many levels and look forward to how it may play out in the future should there be a sequel. I can see Yelena, Melina, and Alexei collaborating in some way. All that aside thank you Kazzy for an enjoyable two hours.

Thank you, Liam πŸ€—βœŒπŸΌπŸ’œ. Happy Birthday to you!! πŸŽ‚β€πŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽ†πŸ₯°

Thank you πŸ€—βœŒπŸΌπŸ’•

Thank you, Carlo πŸ€—βœŒπŸΌπŸ’œ

My only real criticism of this movie is exactly that - Natasha/Black Widow would have been FAR more hurt, in reality, had she experienced those types of situations and injuries. She is a human and NOT a super soldier. However, in this movie, they make her out to be a super soldier, like Bucky. Perhaps her and her "sister" and the rest of the widows were given something when they were children though. Maybe some kind of serum. Otherwise, how would their bodies have these super abilities?

I loved this movie as well , it was a lot of fun with a good story , I thought the characters and acting were great too , Like you said caring about the characters is very important and I think they did a great job here , There was also some nice action scenes and beautiful cinematography , Great movie overall and I really enjoyed watching it with you , that was awesome and fun, loved your reactions and hearing your thoughts ☺️✌️, Nice cosplay by the way 😁 Thank you so much Kazzy for wishing me a happy birthday , that was very kind of you πŸ₯Ί , I am very grateful for that , Sending you lots and lots of love πŸ€—β€οΈ , I wish I could give you some birthday cake too if I could 😁❀️

The pink looks great

Hey Kazzy, great reaction as always, I loved this movie so much! For me it is one of the best MCU movies. More dark and serious than others. The actress who plays the young Natasha looks like Milla Jovovich because is her daughter in real life!!! Her name is Ever Anderson and she looks like to her mother so much! Sending you love πŸ’™πŸ€—πŸ™

The actor ( in the post credits ) and without naming her, is indeed same as in Falcon and Winter Soldier. In the comics, one of her aliases was...Miss Hydra...so this leads in the next Disney+ show ( well, after What if..). Curious how they will spin this around.. Movie was enjoyable, but some stunts felt a bit too far fetched seing as Black Widow is not a superhero, she is human. But seriously speaking, she would have had quite a few broken bones/ribs by the end, lol
