I wonder if it's possible to mod those things to use newer screen technology... I would totally slap in an e-ink screen in one of those if I could! It might not be super practical, but it sure would be cool!

2023-05-18 16:03:21 +0000 UTCthanks for the reminder that ELKS is still around, it's like realizing slackware is still a thing AFAIK the hard drive is IDE but they're picky about CF and SD card adapters. (https://oldcrap.org/2020/10/30/zenith-supersport-286e/ - I think I did get mine to boot with a CF one, though. it's kind of a pain to do.)

I work in a tech recycle job and I'm generally considered to be the business's "retro weirdo", so when we got a pallet of vintage laptops it was all on me. Easily 50% of it was Zeniths like this, and there was about 120 laptops in that lot.
