Hi peeps,
Here are the last sketches for the last pieces in this Inktober series!
Day 11, The Host and Day 12, The Shell.
If you've been with me a while, you might recognise this concept as another one I have had on my mind for a few years now and have been tinkering with here and there.
It is one of those ideas that won't leave me alone but that I never feel fully ready to complete.
I am intrigued to see how it will look in ink....

And finally, the last piece. This idea was mostly born from my desire to draw a skeleton. I wasn't sure what direction to take, and it ended up being a little more absurdist than my other drawings might be, but it felt like a fun note for me to finish on.
This is probably the one I am most looking forward to ink, so I have left it for last.
Long inking sessions like the one I am about to embark on are always rather exhausting, so keeping a piece I am excited about for last should help with the cramming I am about to get into for the next 2 days...Fingers crossed at least, haha!

And this is it for the sketches!
All I need to do now is ink everything and the series will be complete, finally!
I'll be honest, I genuinely thought that deciding to do 12 drawings instead of 31 this year would mean I would manage to finish within the month of October but oh hey, haha.
I blame the holiday I took. XD
That being said, choosing to do a limited number of pieces made this whole project a whole lot more enjoyable and fun than previous inktobers and I didn't end up feeling sick of working in ink, or feeling dissatisfied with some of the pieces' standard.
However, I am most definitely happy to be moving on soon. Using only ink for a period of time always makes me more excited to get back to colour.
I finally feel ready to tackle the big pieces I prepped earlier this year!
I don't know how much I will manage to get done on them before the end of the year, especially since I will be really busy with the store sale, calendar, catching up with rewards and various admin bits and bobs that always arise this time of year.
But I will definitely be starting on at least one and them, and will obviously share the progress with all of you as I go. :)
In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this small series, and that you will like the rest of the drawings. I will upload them all in the next few days as I ink them.
Speak soon, take care and thank you for being here :)
Love, M
