Sketches - The Shadow and Free (days 9 and 10)

I finally have my last 4 days of Inktober sketched out (not sure this really qualifies as Inktober anymore though, haha, maybe I should just call these the calendar drawings...).
Here are Day 9 and 10, The Shadow and Free.
I have spent all day today transferring them and will be starting the inking process tomorrow.
THE SHADOW
This concept might not be translating all that well in sketch form, but the idea is that the character is reaching for a hand coming out of its own shadow.
I considered adding a few more hands reaching out but it felt too close to the stump concept, and I think having just the one hand is more striking.

FREE
This one is a variation on the butterfly net head sketches I have been playing for a little while now. One of those concepts I keep thinking about without managing to make a decision on how I want it to look...
This version is the closest to happy with the idea that I have come so far.
The character will be standing in a field of tall flowers, and I will probably be adding a few butterflies by the time I am done.
