Hello peeps,
Here's Day 06 of 12, INK!
This one might be one of my personal favourites so far. An element I am looking to incorporate into my work more moving forward is water, so this piece feel right in line with the type of theme and the sort of feelings I am aiming to express at the moment.
This is definitely one I think could look fantastic if painted...
I am personally terrified of depths. TERRIFIED. I definitely have thalassophobia. But like many people, I am also fascinated by the expanse and mystery of the vast ocean and the alien and otherwordly quality of underwater worlds. Their symbolic potential is immense and I really want to delve deeper into the meaning they could lend to my work.
This piece equal parts unnerves me and calms me, which is a dichotomy I definitely like to explore often.
How does it make you feel?
----------
I had initially planned on a different, slightly less unnerving composition where we could see the sand bank on the bottom. However, I did end up covering that up, which was a scary decision but I think it worked out.
I did scan the previous composition in case I ended up disliking the dark version, and I am glad I now have both. I am still happy with my decision though, as the atmosphere the dark lends to the final piece is more in line with what I was going for with this concept.

What do you guys think?
----------
I'm finally halfway through these 12 drawings! And while I know I won't finish before the end of the month, I have most of my last drawings planned out, so it should be relatively smooth sailing from now.
My partner and I are going on holiday at the end of week, our first since August 2020! Which will come in the way of me finishing somewhat, but it was our only available dates, and we both need a break desperately, so we are very much looking forward to that.
We are only going for about 10 days, so I will be back early November and will catch up with all the rewards and get to making calendars and organising the Christmas Sale then.
The end of the year is always so busy, so I'm gad I have a little break in between everything to recharge.
Anyway. I'm rambling.
I hope you enjoyed this Day 06, and now I am off to ink Days 7 and 8, cut all your stickers to hopefully post them this week and get a poll sorted out for 8x10 print rewards so you can choose what prints you'd like. :D
Speak soon lovely people,
Take good care,
M
