Hi peeps,
I've been sketching away furiously the past few days and have nearly finished the preliminary drawings for days 3, 4 and 5.
Day 3 went through a lot of changes, and was initially supposed to show a person whose tears were turning into stalactites. I started having doubts as to whether I could accurately recreate the effect in ink only, and whether it would be readable enough, so I shifted to having the tears turn into icicles instead.
But even with that change, the concept still didn't feel right, and something still didn't click in a way that made me excited.
So I overhauled the idea entirely, and went for a concept I've had in mind for a while, where the character is instead being eaten up by caterpillars.

The sketch is still very rough because I will be doing most of the detailing straight in ink.
I would like the character to be looking up at a couple of fully developed butterflies, and maybe have a chrysalis hanging from its ear? We'll see. :)
Day 4 is once again another exploration of another sketch I've been tinkering with for ages, this one below :

I still can't seem to leave this idea alone, and I thought it would look great in ink, so here's sketch 4 :

It is probably a little more whimsical than what I usually do, and, shockingly, includes CLOTHES. *gasp* Look at me trying new things....XD
This inktober series seems to be featuring a lot of wood and forest themed concepts....
So to keep in line with that, here is sketch 5!

This one is an expansion on this below sketch from a few months ago :

After the whimsy of 4, I felt like going back to something a little darker, a little closer to my...wait for it....roots! Pun absolutely intended of course.
...
Don't mind me, I'm sleep deprived.
Anyway, here are the next few concepts I'll be inking!
I still need to add a few more hands to day 5, and tinker with the proportions of day 3, but I feel on the right track.
That's all for now, I'll speak to you again soon, and in the meantime, I hope you are all really well :)
Take good care lovely people!
