"SHELTER" Finished Painting!

Hello lovely people, 

I woke up and it was December and frankly, I feel a little stunned, haha.
Time this year was...weird...

I was hoping to share a few things with you before the end of November, but unfortunately, the month got away from me, and I was unwell for the last few days (not Covid, don't worry), so I didn't manage to post as much as I was hoping, I apologise. 

I will catching up  in the next few days, and my first post for this month is the reveal of Shelter (above)!

This piece took me FOREVER, but I am rather happy with the result!

I wanted this concept to project feelings of being overwhelmed by elements that are out of our control, and represent the instincts to both shield one's self from those hostile forces, while also striving to power through them and emerge stronger and more stable. 

Trying to achieve the wetness and look of a downpour was a challenge, but was also incredible enjoyable to work through. 

Adding the rain streaks was probably the most stressful part of the whole process, as it was the very last step, and I didn't know if it would end up working or ruining everything.
The original painting looks even more rainy, as unfortunately, a lot of the streaks are very light and my scanner did not pick them up adequately. I hope to be able to get a better scanner soon.

This was the last piece I needed to complete the physical reward packages for the past few months, so rewards will be going out this week.
November and December $20+ rewards will go out a little later this month as I still need to create the pieces for the large paintings, but all other rewards, from July to October, will ship in a couple of days.
