Hello everyone,
Here's another batch of Daily Doodles!
I've been keeping up with those sketches well, and managed to complete September, which I was really happy with. I hope to keep that up with October and hopefully the rest of the year too.
I have been doing a bunch of quick lighting studies lately, as I find that studying how light hits can reveal and teach me a lot about the structure being lit. When it comes to faces, which is what I have been focusing on, studying images with harsh or dramatic lighting schemes allows me to understand the volumes and underlying structure of the face and head in ways standard studies don't.
I now do my best to do this doodle first thing in the day, and I usually browse Pinterest for interesting images I can do small studies of.
I have kept up with my brightly coloured palette also. I think these doodles allow me to get my cravings for colour out of me, as I don't tend to enjoy using vivid colours in my paintings, but I do still find it enjoyable to experiment with them, so this Diary is perfect for that.
My favs from this batch are probably today's (09) and 28, as far as colours and light, but 30 and 01 as far as concepts.
01 is exploring the idea of having a snake as a spine, which I think would make an interesting smaller painting...
Do you guys have any favourites?

I hope you are all well,
Take care and speak soon! <3
