Hi peeps,
How is everyone?
I wanted to share with you a little project I worked on the last couple of days.
I want to get into creating more designs for products such as apparel, totes, notebooks, that sort of thing, so I spent the last few days attempting to design a T-shirt from my latest painting.
I do have a Redbubble store with a bunch of items on offer already, but most of the designs are simply my drawings and paintings cleaned up and pasted onto product templates.
I would like to take it a step further and actually work on creating designs SPECIFICALLY to go onto specific items.
So I gave it a go, to see what the process would entail, and worked on a couple of designs based on "Tether".
I worked digitally on my iPad, and you can find the Procreate timelapses of my process in the video above.
I will have a full Youtube video of the experiment on my Youtube channel Saturday, at 2pm GMT/10am EST., but I wanted to give you guys a peak before everyone else (and in more depth too, the timelapse will not be in the video, only snippets of the Procreate drawings).
I created 2 designs in the end, one for dark shirts and one for light shirts.

I did initially attempt to colour the designs, but as soon as I added colour, I disliked it. I much, much prefer the simplicity of a linework-only graphic.
Add to that that I don't know what I am doing with colour digitally yet, and the result just was not to my liking. So I went for lineart only for now.
I did make those shirts available on my Redbubble, and I also activated totes and pillows.
I would very much like to find a different service that gives me greater flexibility with the image one day(in this instance, I really wanted to extend the birds to the sleeves, but that wasn't possible with Redbubble), but for now it'll have to be Redbubble.
I will definitely be looking to create more shirts based on my work in the future, and I will probably need your help in deciding some of them, so keep an eye out for polls! :)
I hope you are all well,
Take care,
M
