July 2019 Sketchbook PDF

Hey everyone!

I am finally done with my Strathmore Course! Well, so long as they are ok with it and don't want any changes, haha. But for now, I have sent it over and am waiting for a response. Hopefully, all will be good!
I wish I could release it early for all of you, but as it's a commission for a client, I unfortunately can't do that, but I hope you'll like it once it's live on their website (September)!

It was great practice for my future Skillshare classes also. Although I seriously need to upgrade my computer, it was really, really, struggling with the amount of files it had to process...

Anyway, here is your July Sketchbook PDF! Finally...
As I mentioned earlier this month, I didn't have much to show as far as recent art, so I compiled a few old drawings I thought were fun and interesting. A lot of them are over 7 years old! I hope you'll enjoy this peak into my past :)

I am so sorry for my silence this month, those courses really took all my time and energy.

I will be working on catching up with rewards in August, and I will have a proper update post with my upcoming plans and what you can expect to see in the next few months very soon.

In the meantime, I hope you are all well,
Enjoy the PDF,
And I'll see you soon!

Love, M

I would love to create a skin tone tutorial, although I don't feel very qualified to teach that subject. It was my very first video request on my channel, and I have been writing it in small bursts since, but it is such a massive subject that it's difficult for me to make it more concise. I'm working on it slowly though! Would you have any precise questions regarding the topic?

I absolutely cannot wait for the class to be come available! I have been really struggling with painting skin tones and faces with gouache. I know that you have been busy with the strathmore series, but have you visited the idea of putting together a skin tone/face tutorial? Can't wait to see what magnificent art you create in the future!

That's very kind of you to say, thank you! And yes, teaching is really beneficial to my own learning too, even just having to think in detail about how I paint and how best to explain it is really useful. Thank you for your kind words!

If your work ethic when it comes to your viewers and you content is anything to go by, I’m sure, though it is a learning process, you’ve done right by your first class! I’ve heard it said that nothing teaches us more than teaching others so I hope you reaped plenty of benefits from creating your class :) ♥️ much love!
