New Painting : "Kindling"

Hi peeps,

I think I have finally finished the piece that I started before I went on holiday!

This one is title "Kindling".
I love that word, and as a child, I always thought it referred to a small and kind (kind-ling) creature, so it feels gentle and poetic to me, although my drawing doesn't exactly reflect that, haha.

I only had a minimal amount of changes to make, and I decided to darken the background and enhance the contrast.
I might revisit the concept later on with a bigger and more intricate piece, but I am still happy with this one. I can definitely feel my style coming together, which is really interesting. It is difficult to perceive your own innate style as an artist, but the more I create, the more I get a better idea of what I am naturally drawn towards aesthetically.
I think style is a mix between natural tendencies and conscious taste, and seeing my own natural tendencies has been tricky, but I feel like I am starting to know myself better, which is exciting, as it will help me understand the future direction I want to take.

Now that this piece is finished, I can get to preparing all your June rewards! I hope to ship them next week, but I will keep you updated, as usual.
