"AEVUM" Real-Time Painting Video

Hey peeps,

Here is the video of the hand painting for my 1-Year Anniversary :).

I decided to title the piece "Aevum", which refers to time and eternity in latin. I thought the word sounded beautiful, and the sound of it makes me think of a rush of air and a vacuum, which goes well with the piece, I think. What do you guys think? Your suggestions were what prompted me to look for words for time! Thank you!

The video is in real-time, so is a bit long (1h30). I talk a little during it, as key points in the painting process, but the rest of the footage has music overlayed, as I wasn't able to keep talking for that long, I hope that's ok!

Here is a link to the sped-up version of the painting :https://youtu.be/sH7A-FmK29M
(if you don't feel like watching the real-time video, but still want to see me paint the piece. There is no voiceover over the timelapse, only music)

I hope you will enjoy the painting!

PRINTS : I will be uploading prints of this piece on my shop this month, and you will all get a special code that will take a big portion of the price off if you would like your own.

PS : See this post for updates regarding the giving away of this piece. I unfortunately was told off by Patreon for organising it, and I am rather scared of pissing off Patreon, so I'll have to think of something else. I'll keep you updated.

I hope you are all well,
Enjoy the video,
Love, M

Woaw, thank you Virginia! And trust me, I am not all that relaxed when I paint, haha. I am getting better, but it is still a stressful process. It's just also exciting and fun. It's a complicated mix! Acryla gouache is extremely similar to normal gouache to use. The Turner brand I have is more liquid than my normal gouache though, which makes it easier to use with little to no water, and get more opaque coverage. The tubes are tiny though, 11ml instead of the standard 15ml, which means I do use a lot more of the paint than regular gouache, especially since anything I pour out and don't use will have to be thrown away as it doesn't reactivate. So the paints are more expensive, you get less of them, and you waste more of them, than regular gouache, which is why I use them a lot less. But using them to paint is lovely, they are very opaque and vibrant! I haven't painted with acrylics enough to do a thorough comparison between acrylics and acryl gouache though, sadly. I reckon that acryl gouache is closer to gouache than acrylic though. It is mostly similar to acrylic in that it doesn't reactivate, but process wise, it works exactly like normal gouache. I'm so glad you liked the video, thank you for watching it!

Thanks Sasha, I hope you enjoyed it ^^

So glad you liked it, thank you Sheilah!

Sorry... w/o interruptions and in a more relaxed way, love, love, love it Myriam❤️ How can you paint in such a relaxed (so it seems) state? In your gouache tutorial you did a comparison between watercolor and gouache, how does acryla gouache compare, contrast with gouache & acrylic other than it doesn’t reactivate? I got into painting with acrylic then immediately fell for watercolor, then gouache. Anyway, love, 💕 💕💕the hand painting. Thank you for doing a real time video and sharing with us. Take care and have a great weekend😊

Finally got to watch this in full w/o

Haven’t watched yet, but I’m ❤️❤️❤️ this already, you know how much I love your hand paintings, did my Inktober hands inspired by you, will watch later after work
