Hi peeps,
Here's my final painting based on the small sketches I did recently.
I titled it "Wanning", with a voluntary play on words and spelling between "Waning" (usually used to refer to the Moon entering a crescent phase, but also to describe a decrease in strength and intensity in general) and "Wanning" (can mean a few things, among which becoming paler, fading, or being melancholic/sad).
I painted this piece only with my watercolour Sennelier Payne's Grey, and I simply adore that colour.
The paper is a sheet of Cold Pressed, 640 gsm (300 lb) 10x14in watercolour paper.

Above are the two small studies I did for the piece before I jumped into the final concept.
I also thought I would include a scan of my latest sketch in this post!
Every so often, I draw a piece that I realise is heavily inspired by my love for Ghibli movies, and this one definitely reminds me of the forest spirit in Princess Mononoke!
I'd like to do a full painting based on the idea of wild creatures coming out of a hollow person, and this was basically my first exploration of the concept.
I never quite know whether to post my sketches here once I have finished them, or wait until I put the Sketchbook PDF together. What do you guys prefer?

I hope you are all well,
Love,
M
PS : Thank you so much to everyone who gave me their input in my thumbnail post for "Dust"! Your input was amazing, and I will try and reply to everyone asap!
