Inktober 2018 Day 24 : "The Cage"

Hi all, 

Happy Halloween!!
What are you guys doing for it? i was never one for parties and going out, but as a prosthetic make-up artist, Halloween was obviously exciting, and today, I miss that profession quite a bit.
[For those of you who are maybe not aware, I used to be a prosthetic make-up artist for the film industry. I quit about a year ago to pursue  as I was missing the creative aspect of it all.]

 
My favourite Halloween was this one year where I'd finished my very first "prosthetic", the year I quit waitressing to pursue make-up full-time. I had been working on a Medusa head piece, sculpting each snake by hand, working every minute I had while also being a waitress full time, going to my cheap, damp, cold studio under the train arches in Hackney, and working until midnight most days to finish this first project I'd set myself. And once I finished it, I was so so proud!!!
I obviously wore the head piece for Halloween, and although I don't have any pictures of my wearing it, I do have some pictures from the first portfolio shoot I did with it. It is worn by one of my friends in the picture at the end of this post. 

But anyway. What are you peeps up to? :)
For me, it's mostly work tonight, as I scramble to finish up the last few Inktober drawings, but maybe I'll be able to catch a glimpse of the fireworks in the park next to our flat, who knows. ;)

I hope you like day 24, it was fiddly to create, but also quite relaxing. I even filmed some of it for a potential ASMR video!
Do you guys experience ASMR?

I like to think of this piece as going in tandem with day 4, and expressing the relationship between our pride, fears, passion, strength, and impulses. I wanted the tigers in both drawings to project both the impression of threat, and strength, of beast, and power. Because sometimes, what is hurting inside can lead to something amazingly powerful, and beautiful in it's dichotomy. 

Anywho. I need dinner, and then onto day 25. I can already tell you that 25 will be titled "Papercut" ;)
