May 2018 Process PDF : "Adoration"

Hi all!

Here is the Process PDF for this month!

I apologise for the time it took me to put together, I think it will probably be standard for this reward to come mid-month, since these bigger pieces take me a while to put together, I hope that's ok!

I am hoping to get to a point where I'll have a bit of backlog to fall back on, but for the moment, I am too swamped on a daily basis to manage several big pieces a month yet.

I tweaked the above scan in Photoshop a little to make it closer to the original painting (something I didn't have the time to do until now, since it required me isolating some elements of the piece and tweaking them independently), so there might be a slight difference between my post from last week and this one. This one is the correct one, haha.

I was planning on including a little tutorial on how I stretch my watercolour paper in this PDF, but I have decided to instead to a more widely accessible in detail post on Patreon in the next few weeks, so feel free to ask me any questions you have about that process in the comments, and I'll do my best to answer them in the post!

Anyway,

I hope you will enjoy this PDF of Adoration! It was a lot of work, haha, so I'd love to hear what you think!

Best, M

I'm so glad you think so! I try to make those PDFs as thorough and helpful as I can, so I'm very happy when you guys tell me they are interesting ^^

This documentation is so thorough and insightful. Just really blows me away. I love that you're sharing this with us. I feel kinda privileged to get this peek behind the scenes. Amazing work and amazing piece. :)

Thanks Laura, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I really like putting those PDFs together, but they are a lot of work, so I am always very happy when you guys find them interesting :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it Timo, I do try my best to make it clear and vaguely entertaining, and I'm glad to hear it comes across!

This is such an interesting, helpful and wonderful documentation bout the creation of an impressive painting...You designed it very clear and well-structured that It's like turning the pages of a painting instruction book (the better ones ;) ). Thank you, Myriam, it's a pleasure to watch you work! :)

I'm so very glad they come across that way, part of why I offer them is because they offer a more personal insight into a process that can sometimes seem out of reach, or obscure to others who want to learn, and I want to help demystify the aura around art, and make it so people feel they are not the only ones going through some difficult thought processes. I find that social media has also created a platform for artists and supporters to link up in more personal genuine ways, it has created this dimensions where people gradually start loving a creator not only for the work they produce but also for who they are. We have been given a platform to be ourselves, and let that be visibly part of our work, and I feel like that is so incredible and precious. I absolutely want part of me to transpire in those PDFs, because who I am is so intrinsically part of what I create, that it wouldn't be a proper Process break down if I didn't put a me in it XD I'm very glad it comes across!! Hope your well lovely <3

Thanks Laura, I hope you'll like it!

I'm always blown away by these process PDFs. Not only is this one very well organized with details about planning sketching, etc - but it's also so very full of YOU. Your struggles, your thoughts, the pace of things for you. I realized reading through it again today that it reminds me of peeking through a window into your mind. I'm really impressed by not only the work and effort that goes in to these, but also the transparency and heart. These PDFs are a real gift.

You are the best kind of supporter Kristy, your appreciation of my hard work means so so much. I don't really expect anyone to read those PDFs fully, but if you do, damn...Thank you!

Oh I wish I could read this all now, but I’m at work.... you put so much effort into these pieces I’m looking forward to sitting down with a nice cup of coffee and immersing myself in it at the weekend!
