Easy at home edibles

Hey everyone!

So I am a bit sick this week, caught something from my work travels last week, so unfortunately I am not really able to make content. (no worries youtube content is already loaded) But I wanted to give you a fun super easy way that you can make your own home made edibles.

Ingredients

Flower

Everclear/Vodka (everclear prefered)

Mason Jar

Tincture

Preheat oven to 230-245 F (110 -120c)

Tear or breakup flower into medium small buds, toss into mason jar and cap.

place flower on oven safe baking dish on its side (you can use a silicone mat, or wet kitchen towel for stability, but the grooves on the jar seem to keep it still for me.)

This step is called decarboxylation and it activates the terpenes and cannabinoids in the flower to make them bioavailable or digestible.

Bake flower in jar for 15 minutes, remove and shake, place back in oven, repeat for a total bake time of 40-45 minutes and 3 shakes (time and temp depend on oven, elevation, etc)

Remove from oven, and place into freezer and let freeze for 24 hours, while the flower is freezing place your alcohol in the freezer as well for 24 hours.

After 24 hours remove flower and alcohol, pour in desired amount of alcohol into the now decarbed flower (volume is up to you) I usually use around 8oz of alcohol per 1 oz of flower.

Shake jar of alcohol and flower for 3 minutes, place back in freezer for 5 minutes, repeat for 3X shakes.

After the final shake, simply strain the tincture into a clean glass jar through a cheese cloth and store in the fridge, you have a shelf stable alcohol tincture that can be taken sublingually under the tongue (beware the alcohol burn) or infused into a variety or recipes.

Reducing tincture - you can also reduce the tincture by putting it in an open glass container with a cheese cloth over the top and open air, this will evaporate off the alcohol leaving your with a condense oil called FECO or Full Extract Cannabis Oil.

you can also use a small wax melter and burn the alcohol off (you must watch this process carefully)

Infused Oil

If an alcohol tincture is not the fit for you, oil based tinctures are super easy to make as well!

Decarb your flower like explained above.

Once your flower is decarbed, divide it evenly amongst a few small mason jars. (depending on how much flower you are using)

Cover the flower in each jar with MCT oil until covered (or really any oil to your liking, mct is flavorless and clear and remains shelf stable very long)

Place in jars in a crockpot or slow cooker, and fill up the slow cooker until water is about half way up the jars.

turn the crockpot or slow cooker on low, or keep warm, our goal is a water temp of 180-190F and leave for 4 hours.

After 4 hours, remove jars carefully  from crockpot and strain through a cheese cloth or coffee filter, into clean jars, and now you have infused mct oil that is versatile and can be used as a substitute for any fat in any recipe.

Enjoy!
