Hey everybody,
Hope all is well with you. This video features a ballpoint pen from Japan that looks like it might be a winner. Made by Zebra, the Sarasa Grand is made of metal and thus has a nice hefty, tactile feel to it. I think I'm going to like it and will give some final thought on it at a later time after I've used it for a few weeks.
On another note; someone left a comment under one of my videos basically saying that all my videos are alike and boring. Perhaps they are right. It shouldn't have, but the comment did bother me a little only because I have so many other videos I still plan to make, of content that really is different than the usual pens and catalogs.
The problem is that some of those will take more time and energy than the typical video that I do, and honestly, I just have not not had the time and energy to make them, though the desire to make them is alive and well. Because my channel is about the simple things I do when I am relaxing, to force myself to make a video would only somehow cheapen my channel. I feel very fortunate that all of my videos have been, for the lack of a better word...real. I never make a video just because I feel I must. When the camera is rolling, it is because I am interested in whatever I am doing at that moment.
When you watch a video of me tinkering with something, it is because I actually wanted to tinker with it. I only share my casual relaxing moments because the making of the video has become an enjoyable hobby within a hobby. I actual get to piddle around with my various hobbies and pursue the video hobby at the same time and share with people the things that interest me. Quite amazing really that people even care enough about and enjoy the little things that I do.
Many of you know that my wife is ill. Her condition continues to worsen and pulling double-duty, so to speak, has left me quite busy and quite exhausted to say the least. Even as I type this I have had to stop to check on her. So, I have been looking for small pockets of time to take care of myself the best way i can with exercise for my body and relaxing at my desk for my mind. These pockets of time can be fleeting and I try to take advantage of them when they are available. Took a bike ride yesterday, though not even close to the usual 20-25 mile trek that I prefer, and I hope to take a short walk sometime today. When I made this Sarasa pen video I was quite excited to make it because I have had this pen for a while and have been looking forward to trying it out, and so when a little window of time popped up I leaped at the chance to unwind a bit and also share with you this moment, the same type of moment that I used to take for granted. These moments are now, in a way, so much more special to me.
Currently I have been wondering if I will have enough of these little pockets of time to build up a small collection of videos that I can release down the road sometime to keep the channel from stalling out when I am too heartbroken to make a video. I'm saddened to have even typed that last sentence. Why am I telling you all this? I guess because you are my patrons and I figure you probably wonder about me a little more than a typical subscriber might. Not to worry though, I enjoy this video hobby too much to give it up and my wife would be disappointed to think that I had. So stay tuned, more videos to come.
Thank you for your patronage. It has never been taken for granted.
R
