Poll #7

As mentioned in the progress report, here is the poll about me spending more time on another project.

First, I'd like to take a moment to go into more details.
Explaining my perspective on the matter as well as explaining what it would mean for Sweet Affection.

My Perspective/Thoughts.

I love working on Sweet Affection, the past couple of years have been a true joy.
Bringing all the characters to live and give so many people something to enjoy.

The characters in Sweet Affection mean so much to me, they have become a part of me.
Especially Sarah and Shannon, having written millions words of dialogue and thought for them.
They have become a part of my daily life, a part of me.

However, after working non-stop on Sweet Affection for years now.
I do start to feel a little bit drained at times, from a creativity perspective.
And especially the past 24 months, the desire to work on something else has grown stronger and stronger.
And I feel like it is something I need to do in order to grow as a creator.

Not only financially and as a team.
But also as a game developer and as a person.
And, I think that it would bring new energy to Sweet Affection as well.

However, there is another reason why I need to do this.
Financially, at this moment... everything is still going fine.
I'm able to work on Sweet Affection full time.
But, that is everything.

There is zero financial room to grow as a team, to invest in new equipment/hardware.
Or, to invest into my own future and life.

Now, I want to make it very clear that I don't mean that your support is not enough for me.
Your support has been incredible since day 1.
Your support and kindness fuels me to keep going, to give you more and more.
Your support IS enough. :)

But, if I want to grow... I need to reach more people.
And I think that would be easier with a project that is a more easily accessible than Sweet Affection.
Something that would reach a bigger audience.

What would that mean for Sweet Affection?

Quite simply, if you are okay with me heading into this direction.
It would mean I will spend less time developing Sweet Affection.

Currently, I work 7 days a week, 7/8 hours a day on Sweet Affection.
I want to change that to 5 days a week, 7/8 hours a day.
And spend the other 2 days on a different project.

Still spending the vast majority of time on Sweet Affection.
And still delivering the monthly updates you have gotten used to.
That will not change, period.

If we are okay with it, when would the first update be?

Because I want there to be a substantial amount of content in a 0.1 version, it would most likely be somewhere in Summer/Fall of this year.

But, I would update everyone regularly on the progress, characters and plans.

If we are not okay with it, what then?

If the majority feels like I should keep all my focus on Sweet Affection, that is what I will do.
And I will do that with the same love and determination as I've done every single day.

I would not be here as a developer without all of you.
We are taking this journey together and your opinion matters to me.
I would like to do more, but I completely understand it and respect it if people want me to focus on Sweet Affection.

So, I want to ask all of you to vote what YOU want. :)
I will keep this poll live until the end of the month.
And depending on the results, I will talk about it somewhere in February.

Option B : I'd rather have you stay completely focused on Sweet Affection.
No second project until Sweet Affection is finished.
