ALSO, I definitely want to get back to more Combat Healer soon. I've just been exceptionally busy for the last few months, and Combat Healer is very plot heavy. It's high on my To Do List though.

I always assumed Avery was some type of plant-based monster since her strong flowery scent was emphasized very early on. Now I wonder if Michelle having a less flowery scent is proof that she is the descendant in the relationship.

Like your comment about Bethel and such. The 'next chapter' of that story actually provides a lot of insight (I think I was partly holding off to avoid spoilers).

2025-06-09 04:42:34 +0000 UTC#1- After my my reread of WGPW Ariana's constant flirting with men she trusted, but had zero sexual attraction with, comes through with Petra and how she has picked that trait up from her. Other than that, she's pretty much how I saw her before this chapter. Playful, teasing, but a good heart. She has a fantasy, bad boy crush on Kai that she believes can never develop into anything more than it is right now. I believe that the only way for there to be any kind of sexual relationship to happen between Kai and any of the Shadow Trinity would be if Ariana blesses it because of the advantages it would give them. Regeneration even more powerful than what they have now, compulsion immunity and a possible telepathic link with him far more reliable than any phone network.

2025-05-30 15:53:10 +0000 UTC#2- I just finished a reread of WGPW and due to around of 100 chapters of IDH being released since then there are several key points that we couldn't have known, or overlooked since then. One of the biggest is the fact that Liz is Rose's bio-mom. Yes, I actually remembered that, but now Liz and Kai are unofficially married in a committed, common law sort of way. So Kai is technically Rose's stepdad, and the father-in-law to both Petra and Ariana! The fact that Ariana's evil grandmother died in an unexplained, sketchy fire was originally puzzling given the fact she could instantly be supersized, with supernatural speed and strength. We now know Kai used his fire magic to end her tyrannical reign in a discreet way. It is pretty awesome to understand that Kai was in the shadows of Ariana's, Rose's, Petra's and Liz's lives that far back. I am betting that Bethel is actually Liz's unnamed adopted daughter. Although it could be one of her unnamed stepdaughters as well or someone else completely. But I am betting on the adopted daughter. Liz also said she had *children*, not a daughter, but multiple bio-kids who were in Ariana's pack. Looking forward to meeting them. Also looking forward to finding out Mabel and Margaret's fates, who I thought might end up becoming concubines of Ariana, as well as a few of women Ariana rescued from the slavers. ::Edit:: I forgot to mention the fact that there were werebats in the vicinity of Ariana's village which would imply that Roland was around the area back then, as well as Dante who share a historical link with preunification Italy. This is assuming the Dante of WGPW is the same as the treacherous vampire of IDH.

2025-05-28 23:35:04 +0000 UTC#3- The mythology nerd in me loves the idea of a new species of nymph being introduced. Slyphs (like Nicole) and dryads being two of the four subspecies being mentioned way back when. I am excited about the world building and meeting another supernatural sexy as hell woman from Kai's past. However, there is a serious backlog of women needing some narrative love. There are over twenty women in Kai's life now, or on the horizon. And since his return from Joseph's place almost all of his time and focus has been on Raegan, Claire, Nicole and to a lesser extent Laura, Petra, Jessica and Kelsey. I feel like I know Emma, Miriam's cougar chef (who has has been prominent in all of a page or two) better than I know Tracy, one of his girlfriends. Vivian/Taylor has been conscious for multiple chapters now but there is no clarity on the mystery surrounding her. Alicia's and Eve's plotlines are still hanging around unresolved. In short, I hope this dryad character is a long term tease until some of these other distractions and mysteries are cleared up. I love all the non-stop twists and turns, but I would prefer to resolve some of the subplots and giving some love to some of the ladies in the harem who we haven't seen in a meaningful way in a while like Rebecca, Liz, Rosa, Bethel, Gabriella, Rachel and even Serenity and Miriam.

2025-05-28 22:54:02 +0000 UTCYeah, Liz's disconnect with not figuring out that he IS Shadow/Wrath is confusing. She's been around the mansion to listen to Delilah, Miriam and Gwen tell stories about him 3,000 years ago and since. His power has been on display a couple of times now. Just yesterday he completely owned an Oni bodyguard and two members of the Legion in spectacular fashion. To say nothing of the fact that Bethel told Kai they had met in the distant past. Even if Liz was unconscious at the time I can't believe that tidbit wasn't brought up again at some point. ::Edit:: Liz also hasn't made the connection between his blue fire and Shadow's blue fire, even though Bethel seems to have.

2025-05-26 04:40:00 +0000 UTCAs far as Petra is concerned; I'm still finding it hard to get a read on her character, although I will say I'm confident she has romantic feelings/designs towards Kai. If that is the case it will be interesting to see how Ariana feels about it; will she offer her blessing, want to have a part in it also, or perhaps view it as a betrayal from both parties, thus turning one of Kai's allies into a very powerful/ dangerous enemy.

I will admit Claire is slowly winning me over; she's still a bit ditzy, naive and needs constant reassurance of her value to Kai, personality traits I feel could cause future issues, but she clearly has matured a lot recently and cares immensely about Kai. So whilst I still doubt that she'll ever be one of my favourite women in Kai's life, with me personally still having her in the 'concubine' bracket in regards to her place within the harem/my ranking of his women, I am looking forward to seeing her further growth as a character and how much of a role she'll ultimately end up having in Kai's life.

Unless there were quite a few human with supernatural blue flame weapons and precognition then. I mentioned awhile ago that Kai would have other servants and ally being over thousands of years and a pet dryad makes sense.

Wouldn’t it be interesting when she realizes that he’s the one who Bethel was obsessed with,as well as the one who created the werewolves, on top of being the creator of the fire spell wrath, AND being Wrath himself. Poor woman will probably be shell-shocked for a week
