Progress Report Week 25

As mentioned last week, this week's progress report is going to be a little longer.

Sweet Affection 0.10.8

Let's start with the upcoming update.
I'm happy to say that I finished all the work on the planned content for Sarah & Shannon.

All the art, writing, and diary pages are done and we are currently in the process of coding everything.
If everything goes smoothly, we should begin beta-testing in a couple of days from now.

I aim to release this update for Tier 3+ on June 29th, 12:00 CET.

Sweet Affection 0.10.9

I have also started working on the update for Juli.
Mainly Suzie's planned content.

I've finished prepping all the work and planning and will begin work on her art, tomorrow.

One thing that I'd like to mention right away are the requirements to start her new content.
That way, you have plenty of time to get there.
- Sarah & Shannon need to be Level 10
- Suzie needs to be Level 4, 100 Affection.

It's definitely going to be a very busy 5 weeks, just like with Laura's update.
But, I'm looking forward to continuing Suzie's story!

Poll.

Now, let's talk a little bit about the results of the poll.
To be honest, the results put me in a difficult position.

1/3 wants us to keep going as we've been going.
(Keeping focus primarily on Sarah and Shannon.)

1/3 wants us to change things.
(Changing focus to the side characters.)

1/3 doesn't really care as long as I keep on updating the game every month.

I've spent many hours trying to come up with a perfect solution, but I realized that that is simply not possible.
All I can try is to make everyone as happy as possible.
So, this is my idea going forward.

Once we reach the ending levels for Sarah & Shannon, I'm going to change up development.
The development will go in 3-month cycles.

Starting December 2024

Month 1: Sarah & Shannon
Month 2: 2 Side Characters (One higher level + one lower level.)
Month 3: Sarah & Shannon combined with time off. (So, smaller update.)

I reached this decision not only because of the poll results, but this is also a personal preference.

I've spent so much time developing Sarah and Shannon their story, that I'd like to spend some time working a bit more on the other characters.
And, if we keep going at this rate, Sarah and Sarah their story will be finished long before some of the side characters.

Because they are the main story in Sweet Affection, I'd like the final update of the game to all about them.
And have all the characters reach the end of their journey around the same time.

Now, this is not 100% final.
If I feel like people really don't like this idea, or even hate it.
Then I will look for an alternative plan.

So, please.
If you don't like this idea or have a better suggestion, let me know. :)
I'm just trying to come up with the best for everyone.

Next Week's Progress Report

Because the update will be released on a Saturday, I will be posting next week's progress report on this Friday.
As always, it will include the change log as well.

In Juli, I'm also planning on hiring someone that can help me with PR / Promotion.
I'm still working a little bit on the details, but I will post it most likely somewhere in Mid-Juli.
Keep an eye out for that. :)
