Loki Season 2 Episode 5 + 6 FINALE!

Best MCU show since Wandavision!

Loki Season 2 Episode 5 + 6 FINALE!

Comments

Going into this season, I already loved the development that he got in the movies and season 1. Tom Hiddleston does such an amazing job of giving such a classically villainous character such... depth and heart. This season, though... with Loki having to scramble to save everyone and everything that he cares about just took it all to another level. Seriously, this season had full season finale energy on the first episode and each of the last three. And... yes. By the end, he is taking a throne. Quite possibly the highest throne possible as The God of Stories at the heart of Yggdrasil. But it isn't the throne he longed for in Thor or The Avengers. It isn't the glorious purpose he saw himself as being burdened with back then. I adore the story of how his final lines in this series came to be. They were getting ready to film that scene, and Tom took a jog around the back lot to clear his head and get ready for it, and while he was jogging, those lines just... came to him. He came back, ran them by the production team, and they agreed. After all... as Odin was hanging him off the edge of the shattered Bifrost, he said that he could have done all of it "for you! For all of us!" It speaks volumes to how well Tom understood the character to his core. But, no... in the end, he gets a throne, which is the last thing that he wants now. Not for his own glory, but for the sake of everyone in the multiverse's glory. It, like any properly held throne, is a sacrifice for the sake of those under the ruler's care. Loki was already one of my favorite MCU characters, but this finale secured his position as my favorite MCU character, full stop. And, as far as I can see, he's going to hold that position for all time. Always.

Now that Loki is done will you guys be returning to The Boys & Gen V?

Glad to share your glorious purpose with you here. Yes, the cast, yes, the story arc. And those visuals; the 'spaghetti' effect especially. I will be excited to see "Agatha" with you since it blew me away. Please don't forget "Fantastic Beasts, too.

Gets his throne, may not have the glory, but he has found his purpose.

A few things worth noting: 1.) Casey’s real name is Frank Morris. In real life, Frank was one of three inmates who attempted to escape Alcatraz in 1962. However, it’s assumed that they drowned before they could make it far. 2.) Back in season 1, Sylvie showed B-15 the life she had through her enchanting. She said she looked happy, and now we know it’s true. Her real name is Dr. Verity Willis. Before any of this happened, she worked as a pediatrist at a children’s clinic her father founded. 3.) As for Mobius, there is one theory going around but it hasn’t been confirmed. He was a single father in 2022 which is during the Blip. Unless his wife passed away due to natural causes or something else, then it’s possible that she might have been among half of the population who vanished until the Avengers revived them. First, Doctor Strange bargained with Dormammu after dying countless times. Now we have Victor doing the same in the attempt to fix the loom. I wonder how many takes it took Tom Hiddleston to say “Timely’s adaptive exponential computing system.” It just sounds so funny. After watching this series, who funnier in your opinion: He Who Remains or Victor Timely? In the end, Loki chose his burden by embracing the two things he didn't want: loneliness and a throne. It's a sad happy ending because his friends and the countless dimensions survive but it’s not without sacrifice. The best and only way it happens is that Loki ascends to his new glorious purpose as the god of storytelling. The variants of He Who Remains are the Council of Kangs, and the report is regarding the events of Quantumania. Basically this means that Scott and Hope managed to buy the TVA more time to prepare for the imminent fight against the Council. I recently got my sister to watch Loki season 2, and I mostly did it because she’s a fan of Ke Huy Quan through his work on Everything Everywhere All At Once. His character O.B. turned out to be her favorite, and mine as well. It’s crazy to think how one good thing leads to another. I also wanna acknowledge Wunmi Mosaku. Her character B-15 started to grow on me late into season 1, and now I’ve gotten to like her even more. We get to see more of her vulnerability, empathy, and leadership. Mobius may be seeking a new calling which is a good thing, but the TVA is in great hands. With B-15 sticking around, it’ll become a happier and healthier work environment as shown in their new slogan/campaign “Let’s Grow Together.” And how can I forget about Casey? He had a relatively small role in the first season that I didn’t think he was gonna be more prominent the second time around. That change took me by surprise in the best way possible. His level of expertise may not be as high as that of O.B., but he follows along quite well and his input matters a great deal. The two of them and Victor clearly work well together to the point that they wrote and published the second edition of the TVA Official Handbook. Casey’s contributions, no matter how big or small, helped to save the TVA and with it quite possibly every dimension.

So, a couple of things… The comment that Mobius makes at his desk near the end of the episode about a “He Who Remains” variant in “616” is a reference to “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”. Earth-616 is the designation for the MCU Earth. It also is, in my opinion, how Marvel solves its Kang problem because he was supposed to be the next big villain to replace Thanos. But then everything happened with the actor that plays him and he got fired. So I think that was thrown in there to basically let us know this is how they are fixing the problem and moving on. Anyway, just my theory. One other thing, the tree structure that Loki makes with all the branches of timelines is something we have literally seen since the beginning of the MCU and the first Thor and first Captain America movie. It’s Yggdrasil, the world tree.
