The only complaint I have against the MCU is the way Disney and Hollywood changed so many origin stories of characters. The origin story of She Hulk in this series isn't even close to the origin story in the comics. I just don't understand why they had to mess with the characters so much!

This show captures the traditional feel of the She-Hulk comics perfectly. She-Hulk was breaking the fourth wall for years already before Deadpool ever existed. It's literally a power that she has; she was always aware that she was a character in a comic book and was able to use that to manipulate situations. She would get into arguments with the writers and artists, one time she fired the narrator. Once she took a shortcut to the next page by punching a hole in the paper.

Yes, She and Deadpool can both break the 4th wall. This is actually a power ;-) Yeah this show is definately different. But its all about inclusion right. Everyone likes different stuff. But yeah its more of a comedy at times. EP2: Ahhh i think you missed the opening logo going from 'Attorney at Law' going to 'Attorney for Hire' haha. Yeah the Emil was fighting Wong in that underground fighting ring. This was happening in the Shang-Chi movie :-) Ep3: yeah.. haha no comment... hahaha yadayadayadayada

However, I wouldn’t call Bruce, Emil, and Wong cameos because they clearly show up for more than a mere minute. I feel like they’re either special guest stars or recurring co-stars. Nevertheless, she’s right about one thing: this is her show. It’s also funny how she’s talking to us and her co-stars pay little to no attention to that whatsoever.

I think a lot of people forget that Marvel Comics has always had their own goofy twist, with various characters like She-Hulk and Deadpool being the most prominent, (believe me there are more) and I believe the writers of this show were very comic book accurate with the way they wanted to portray She-Hulk and bring that to the television screens. Also...fun fact, She-Hulk was the first character Marvel used to do fourth-wall breaking, with instances of talking to the audience or in prior cases to the reader before Deadpool.

The show does have a strong feminist perspective that might not be aimed primarily at men, however there's still a lot of fun to be had if you turn your brain off and just enjoy it. I’ve always loved She-Hulk from the comics, where she’s such a complex and intriguing character. Unfortunately, the show doesn’t quite do her justice. Despite this, the lead actress is incredibly talented and does a great job with the role; it’s just a shame the script doesn’t fully showcase her potential. Anyways love that you guys are checking this out hopefully you continue to just enjoy it for what it is!

2024-09-16 00:36:42 +0000 UTCI think now you see why the mixed reactions for this, however, this is very comic accurate in the portrayal of She-Hulk. The guys who jumped her at the end of ep. 3 were the Wrecking Crew. A pretty lame group of villans from the comics and you are about to get even more lame villans created by Stan Lee in the early to mid sixties. The entire show is like a big inside joke and if you get it you know, if you don't you will hate it. I am waiting for ep 8 ad 9 to see your reactions. It's not what you think. I think Brooke will love it and Tony will hate it, but I thought it was hella fun!
