My issues with this movie are numerous. We will start with how a dude spends the whole movie wanting to kill Gods. One conversation for 1 minute, and boom. He now gives his daughter to one, to raise. WHAT? At the end, you had Thor, and 50 kids with the power of Thor, and couldn't stop Gorr, but needed Jane? Another issue was just the endless goofy, while having a wanna be creepy bad guy. It just felt so misplaced. Pick a tone, and direction. This and you've already seen She Hulk, where they really start making the guys goofballs, even previously known ones to be heroic. Took Bruce a decade or whatever to learn to control hulking out. She did it like 45 minutes, because ... woman, obviously. It starts to be overbearing as you go along. I could go on for a while, I'll just leave it with these points.

Bulletproof

But are you really going to watch Secret Invasion? Lol if so cool, but even THEY have mentioned thinking it's important to watch for something bigger when it's all just separate stuff now so isn't as urgent get to it get through it anymore. Does that make sense? I didn't at all say stop watching or it sucks lol

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Did I say to stop watching MCU? No. I said put it on the back burner which means quit prioritizing it as the top watches and do it down the prio list a bit further and put like catching up with DCU now at the top or doing other movies. I also mostly meant the shows that take ages,I'm not watching any of them except maybe Loki whenever that is. I also didn't say anything about them not liking them or them being bad, idk if they will or not, but I personally as a patron am not interested, along with a few others. I know we can just not watch, I said I'll probably hop for a bit but they ask for us to be open with thoughts so here I am. Take or leave haha 😁

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

nah some of the MCU movies coming up they will like or even love.

Jake Follain

Special place in my heart 🫶🏾

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Gotham I really enjoyed

Despero Riggity

Unfortunately, I cancelled my Patreon subscription until you get past this rough stretch. You have some real stinkers ahead of you that I can't watch again. I will be back eventually though.

Becky White

Great! Still might have to hop off for a bit but I'd be back! 😄

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Just wait for She Hulk lol MCU in the toilet for real. It can get better with what they have coming but the lack of direction and random series that totally bomb hurt its rep so bad. And now the whole Multiverse stuff is so inconsistent and convoluted and imo just a chance for cash grab movies because they had no other good ideas. Guardians 3 is good tho.

Christian

Excited for y'all to continue The Boys and watch Blade. Y'all gotta add "BrightBurn" the evil Superman movie to the list. You won't regret it 🤙

Mack

we are going to finish the boys!

Mr. October

Just start watching DC(EU) and Gotham TV series. It's time. Marvel has been flailing since before No Way Home, which had its own probs. You might want to keep going down the MCU watch order, but at this point to refresh/revive this kind of content, maybe swerve a bit towards other superhero content, and put MCU on back burner. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I thought yall would like The Boys more and I haven't seen anything in Phase 4 and don't plan to so I might have to jump for a bit and be back to catch up with stuff tbh. 🫶🏾

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Yup. I love Black Panther WF. Its up there for me with Shang Chi as a breath of fresh air from the usual Marvel storytelling

Jonny

The MCU series are better than the movies at this point. There are some really good aspects like Loki and Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop as the new Hawkeye so I think the MCU will find its new footing and direction soon.

Ron Hubbard Jr

Also, Gorr is played by Christian Bale, who played Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy.

Ron Hubbard Jr

That is not The Watcher. That is Eternity.

Ron Hubbard Jr

100% true

Lifehouse

I had to go through all the previous comments to see what you've already heard. I agree with most. But, hey, you've still got some great ones to look forward to: B. Panther 2, Guardians 3 to name a couple. Glad you had fun with this, that's what it's all about at day's end.

Jim Schmitz

They were able to scrap projects because Bob Chapek got fired as CEO. That dude was killing Marvel by pushing quantity over quality. Marvel just couldn't keep up with so many projects happening at once, which made everything dip in quality. Bob Iger has his issues as CEO, but at least with him back Marvel is able to focus again. He let them scrap all the canon fodder projects so they could work on the handful that have promise.

Chase Schleich

Marvel is starting to get back on track. We'll see if they're able to keep it up. Disney owns Marvel and Disney's long time CEO retired so a new CEO took over. He ran the company into the ground in just a couple of years. He put red tape in Kevin Feige's way and demanded more and more content from Marvel and Star Wars which meant projects got rushed into production, severely hurting their quality. Now the old CEO is back, Kevin Feige has all of his authority back which means no more red tape and both Marvel and Star Wars are allowed to slow down so they can focus on quality over quantity. The other big problem was the actor playing the big bad of the multi-verse saga (who you've only kind of met so far) got in legal trouble so that entire character is gone and now they're getting a new big bad for the upcoming Avengers movies. Deadpool and Wolverine was the first good Marvel film in a while and the next few they have lined up all look good so fingers crossed they all deliver. DC looks to be stepping up their game as well (well.... not really their games, their games suck lol), but people have high hopes for the new Superman movie, the Penguin show looks really good, Peacemaker season 2 is coming (their best TV show) and the director of Guardians of the Galaxy is in charge over there and he's never made a bad film so hopefully DC is able to stand toe to toe with Marvel in the coming years.

Chase Schleich

This one went way too far to the funny / silly stupid side. Ragnarok had a good balance of humor and drama, this one didn't. I definitely didn't enjoy this movie.

Ron Hubbard Jr

Also yes there was a Statue head of The Watcher and a Celestial in the final battle when they were getting into eternity

Gio Bellisario

Up next, Stranger Things 4: 3-9? 😃

Jesse Lee

The little girl is Chris hemsworths daughter in real life. And his son play young Thor in the beginning as he was running

Gio Bellisario

MCU was a bit all over the place. But don't fret.. they get back on track :-) I dont wanna give away what & where. Just trust that it will. Remember our convo? Marvel tried some stuff and it clearly didnt work. So they went back to the drawing board. They scrapped a lot of projects. Some of the stuff you've seen will never see a sequel. Instead those characters will be absorbed in other projects that do work. This last year has been full of amazing announcements. Which you will see in time. Just know that the biggest surprise/reveal.. is still ahead of you guys. You are gonna go insane once you find out!!! - Please be mindful of the comments. I saw a few things that could be considered spoilers. P.s. Korg, the rock guy... finally found another Rock dude.. to mate with.. called Dwayne hahaha, i think y'all missed that joke. I love it.

Lifehouse

Yes, it's Batman. Also, Love is Chris Hemsworth's daughter. The actor that plays Thor in the plays in Luke Hemsworth, his brother. Gorr had the potential to be an insane villain, but they missed the mark with him.

Amber B.

People don't like because they went to goofy in this one with it undercutting the serious tones of Jane's cancer. Ragnarok had the right amount of fun and drama. So hopefully with Thor 5 they'll make it more serious since this might be Chris Hemsworth last go around as Thor.

Maurice

I actually liked this movie. I know it's not loved by many....but it was so goofy it cracked me up. I don't think it was the worst movie I've ever seen. Now, as far as the MCU goes....it was stalled but I think it's moving now....Wait until you see Deadpool and Wolverine....it's an amazing movie. It completely gave me hope for future projects.

Jessica Houser

I totally missed that. Watching it now. Thx

Slow Shadow

They’ve already reacted to that!

Chase

Marvel Comics in the early and mid seventies were awesome. Then in the late seventies going into the 80's they hit a slump. Bad writers, bad artist, it was just bad except for the X-men and Daredevil titles from back then, which were awesome. The MCU Phase 4 reminds me of those days. We have some bangers in WandaVision, Loki, MoonKnight and Hawkeye, but everything else is just kinda "meh". Multiverse of Madness and Black Widow were good, but not great. (I don't count Spider Man because that is Sony). Taika Watiti was fired after this turd and I'm amazed that Kevin Feige would allow this to be released. I'm not going into all the detail of why I hate this piece of shit so much, but Disney fired thier CEO and brought back their old CEO (Bob Iger) to right the ship. He immediatly told Kevin Feige to cut back on the content and refocus on quality over quantity. Some of the projects, however, were already made or in post production and had to be released to recoup some money. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 saves the day with an excellent movie and now Deadpool and Wolverine give hope that Marvel is back! Deadpool and Wolverine is very self aware (no spoilers) and this takes me to She-Hulk. It is very self aware. A lawyer comedy (I don't know if you remember the show Allie McBeal, but it's that, but with super powered beings. It's great) Werewolf by Night is wonderful, but it' just a 45 min one shot, but it' a great Halloween Special. I hope you guys get to DD season 2 soon and meet the Punisher. I also hope you watch the DD (2003) movie. I see that you have Blade up in the batter's box in the next few days. Fantastic!!! Can't wait!!!

DarrellWaller

I only liked the way they shot some scenes they used some special filming stages for some of the beautiful shots we see not used in any other marvel film

Gio Bellisario

Waiting to take my man to work so I can come home and watch this 😮‍💨🫶🏻

Gio Bellisario

Yes it Goofy. But if you accept it and be open for it its pretty fun. And yes Marvel feels like its at a dead end but it looks like they will pull it together for the new Avengers movies because of recent changes. But just FYI before you watch guardians of the Galaxy 3 you need to watch the Guardians Christmas special. Even if its not Christmas. Otherwise you will miss important information

Slow Shadow

its ok, its just too goofy, too silly. even chris hemsworth now regrets the way this film was made.

chris z

The problem with Thor movies is that they can be written so much better because the villains are genuinely great. But the story is just soso man.

Jonny

i still have to say its korg was retelling the story. that's why it was so goofy. AT LEAST, gotg 3 is still amazing.

Phil Tilly

As far as direction, the MCU does have one. It's just there are multiple ones. Phase 4 and 5 are about building up the Multiverse, passing the torch to new legacy characters (Nu-Cap, Yeleba as BW, etc) and introducing new heroes (Photon, She-Hulk, Shang Chi, etc.) and the the Young Avengers (Kamala, Kate, etc.) It's different from the previous 3 phases since there's way more content and they didn't do the best job in terms of pacing.

Adrian Rhodes

I genuinely didnt like this movie. I think it might be my least favourite Marvel movie. That being said it does have good ideas. Gorr, Jane Thor from the comics, Eternity...who is a big deal but got shafted here.... Hercules and Zeus...huge deal....i hated how they made this for just giggles. 5/10 movie for me with a lot of wasted potential

Jonny

Btw Thor & Hercules has one of the best comic book stories ever if they did that instead of love and thunder it probably would’ve hit a billion and I hope they do it for Thor 5, we still haven’t seen Thor at his best or close to his full potential and that story would be the perfect way to do it😮‍💨

Dayvon148

You’re not wrong marvel was all over the place around this time from recent interviews you find out they hired some writers and directors who didn’t even watch mcu movies or know the characters and told them not learn about them before working on some of these projects, also their plan with the new big 3 kind of broken down due to Chadwick’s passing & Tom Hollands deal with Sony because Sony doesn’t really play nice with Spider-Man all the time, also if you haven’t heard the whole entire multiverse saga crashed and is becoming something else but let’s just say they finally listened in 2024 so yeah ig just have fun with phase 4 😂

Dayvon148

That's an Internet thing, Mr. O. Everything is either a 10/10 or 0/10. There's no nuance smh

Adrian Rhodes

Being completely honest, this movie wasn’t necessarily my favorite. A lot of people including most of the reactors who have seen this movie would say there was more potential with Gorr the God Butcher. I did like his performance though. As far as comedy goes, they tried a little too hard to be funny. Still, my favorite funny moment was Thor dissing Gorr’s dental work. A decade ago I never imagined they would implement the screaming goat meme into a comic book film, but here we are. They don't mention their names out loud, but they're called Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder. The New Asgard tour guide is Darryl Jacobson. He appeared in the Team Thor One-Shots and starred in his own short titled Team Darryl. I had a feeling that the title Love and Thunder had a deeper meaning, but I didn’t expect it to be nicknames for Thor and his new daughter. Gorr's daughter Love was portrayed by Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter India Rose. In fact, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, and Taika Waititi had their kids join as some of New Asgard's children. Not only that, the kids who were brought to set were asked to draw monsters on paper. Then those drawings were submitted to the visual development team to create the shadow monsters that we see in the final film. The idea started when Taika’s daughter drew a monster and showed it to her dad, and that was in the early stages of development. They had yet to start filming at the time. In the timeline, this movie takes place between Endgame and the Guardians’ holiday special which you’ve already seen. After this, the Guardians would purchase Knowhere from the Collector, release Cosmo from the collection, and welcome her to the team. The purchase must’ve been worth a fortune, but I’m guessing the Guardians were able to afford by answering all those distress calls regarding Gorr. I know we still have a ways to go, but I can’t tell you how excited I am for you to get to Volume 3. Until then… Once it was Thanos for Infinity War… Then it was the Avengers for Endgame… And then Spider-Man for No Way Home… And now, the Guardians of the Galaxy demand our silence.

Aldo Gonzales

Love y’all ❤️

Earl anjejo

I'm tryna sleep. Nah, I'm kidding, curious on if you'll like this movie or not.
