Kill Bill Volume 2 (2004) Reaction

Weeelllll…. that would be a spoiler. Sure you want to know?

Becca

is the D silent? that is our next one! someone told me that and I don't want to sound dumb AF lol

Mr. October

H8 is good, but I can understand why it isn’t everyone’s favorite QT film. Still, they should do them all to complete the collection!

Becca

Of all the QT films, Kill Bill 1 and D’Jango Unchained are my favorites. I’ve watched both numerous times!! Hoping for D’Jango next! 🤞🤞

Becca

I might actually go so far to say I like Hateful 8 as a whole even more than Inglorious Basterds. Aside from two sequences in particular in Basterds that are the absolute best things he's ever put on film.

Kenneth thomas

Hateful 8 is indeed written like a stage play - and it is long - but I don't find it boring at all. I think it is his best written movie, actually. Dialogue is fire.

Louie Anderson

of all the subtitles i have seen this is the first time i have seen that lol

Mr. October

I never watch movies with subtitles, so I have no idea why they are censoring the dialog.

Chris

The Hateful 8 was surprisingly boring, it's more like a stage play than a movie.

Chris

You guys!! I love how much you’re willing to laugh at yourselves and each other, like with the 5 point nipple twist or when Mr October asked for the news but Mrs October gave him the weather! 😂 idk if you’ll get that joke. KB is my favorite Tarantino film, but it always seems to be changing. I didn’t love Once Upon A Time… but it’s grown on me the last couple years. Inglorious Basterds is probably 2nd or 3rd depending on how I’m feeling about Pulp Fiction that day. The only Tarantino film that I actively dislike is The Hateful 8. Are you going to skip Death Proof, which was part of the Grindhouse double-feature Tarantino did with Robert Rodriguez? It’s definitely not his best, but maybe worth going back to someday if you’re jonesing for some new-to-you Tarantino. ❤️ you guys!!

Samuel L Jackson is the piano player

Mack

When you have subtitles on you won't see the actual language displayed

Mack

It’s clear that Tarantino is a fan of film. Every one of his films pays homage to a different genre of film.

Sam Fisher

David Carradine(Bill) was a legendary actor that got popularity playing in a tv show called Kung Fu back in the day. His character Caine travelled the country coming to people’s rescue all while evading Chinese bounty hunters who killed his master and he was known for playing his flute while traveling.

Sam Fisher

And you felt all this information was necessary to enjoy the film? Do you think all this information makes this film less loved or more loved?

Sam Fisher

Well unfortunately you couldn’t hear the flute because you started talking as she was exiting the church. But that’s ok. Also those references that Rufus (Sam Jackson) referenced were Motown music groups. Ya’ll are pretty young so I wouldn’t think you’d know them.

Sam Fisher

When I was young I used to watch Kung Fu (little grasshopper).

Shirlene Wright

It happens more often than you'd think. X-Japan's guitarist went this way as well.

OldMisterChris

I always just assumed when the subtitles are different, the script was submitted to whoever does the subtitles before any final tweaks were made to the script and/or any improvisations were made on the fly that made it into final production. Pure speculation.

Jesse Lee

A few sad things about this movie. Harvey Weinstein (the producer of this and all of Quentin's films) sexually assaulted Uma. Quentin and Uma were personally very close and were creative partners until filming the final scene for this movie (the car on the gravel/dirt road). Uma did not feel comfortable driving the car because it was in pretty bad shape and the road was curvy and made of loose gravel/dirt. Quentin got angry and got her to do it. She then wrecked, causing serious injuries to this day. Weinstein and his company Miramax hid the footage of the wreck from Uma's lawyers and there was all sorts of drama causing Quentin and Uma to have personal issues for years, though Uma blames the producers and Miramax mostly to blame. David Carradine who played Bill was found dead in his hotel room a few years after Kill Bill Part 2. He had a cord around his hands, neck, and groin, and he was hanging in a closet. He was wearing a wig and fishnets, masturbating while choking himself, but took things too far and he died. Either that or he had someone with him who ran off, leaving him dead in the closet, though the hotel swears he was alone. Kind of difficult to get yourself into that predicament alone though.

Chase Schleich

The subtitles are KILLING me! 😂 “Sorehead” omg who wrote that

Just to point out a couple of Tarantino traits, in the first part there was the big sword fight scene that was a tribute to Bruce Lee, from her costume to the concept of a single fighter taking on a large group, and kicking all their azzes. When you first see Bill in this movie, he is holding a bamboo flute, a nod to David Carradine's role as Caine on the TV show Kung Fu, as he carried that same instrument throughout the show. A show, not coincidentally, that was created by Bruce Lee. Tarantino likes to pay homage to the kinds of shows and movies he grew up with, and inspired him to create his own.

Kill Bill was an homage/love letter to old school kung-fu flicks, anime and westerns. That's why you were picking up on those vibes.

Adrian Rhodes

Django unchained is a very good movie. I didn't think I would like it, but was pleasantly surprised. I think I liked it more than Kill Bill.
