Try watching it with English subtitles off and maybe the ones for Japanese language parts will come up. In the theater there were English subtitles for all the Japanese parts, so definitely play with those settings, cause you guys missed stuff.

Make sure to rewatch it with the subs, especially the part with Sonny Chiba (Hattori Hanzo) after he made the katana. As im not from US i have no idea if i can help u find the proper version, i know it is on netflix (in my region though) but in my country we usually download the movies from pirate sites 😆 Not sure what the situation is in the US.. great content though, loved how you appreciated the movie aesthetic and dialogue!

2024-08-19 03:33:29 +0000 UTCI don’t think anyone here is disappointed for themselves that there weren’t subtitles, because a lot of us are probably familiar enough with the movie. We just want you get as much enjoyment and understanding out of these as we have. Also, I really like that you’re doing a specific filmmakers filmography. This might be something cool to continue. There are a lot of really great directors out there that have really solid resumes. Maybe the Coen brothers, Wes Anderson, John Hughes, the rest of Christopher Nolan’s movies that you haven’t seen. These are all directors with a very specific vision when they make their movies. Of course there are others, but these are some more relatively younger ones.

2024-08-18 21:08:04 +0000 UTCI’ll give you Dusk til Dawn. It’s basically a cult classic. It’s cool the sheriff is also in that. But Grindhouse was legit. Probably the most fun ive ever had in a packed theater. Sorry you didn’t like it but everyone can’t like everything. 🤷🏽♂️

The first half was ok, maybe a little slow. Then when things really pick up in the 2nd half, it just gets cartoonish and goofy. I remembered it being more horror, but I must have been really young the first time I watched it in order to think that lol

Looks like you watched this via Max, and there should have been a way for you to see the Japanese audio with English subtitles, so if you have the chance to rewatch it before watching Part 2, I’d recommend that so you know what you missed. Also, PLEASE be sure to make sure part 2 has the Japanese to English subtitles because you will *definitely* need them. Lastly, if no one has mentioned it, Maya Hawke who plays Robin in Stranger Things is Uma’s daughter with Ethan Hawke.

Like I said before, Uma is the irl mother of Robin from Stranger Things. And to answer your question. YES these Kill Bill movies are very loved. At the time it was referenced a lot and also parodied a lot. I saw this when it came out and I still listen to the music from time to time. Its just that good. Im looking forward to y'all watching the next one.

Grindhouse was a double feature horror flick by Tarantino and Rodriguez. “Planet Terror” & “Death Proof”. Also Dusk til Dawn was a crazy film by Rodriguez that starred Tarantino.

Part 1 had the most Japanese scenes, but there's more to come in the next part. You'll need the subtitles to really understand.

Fun fact, if you rewatch Pulp Fiction the Fox Force Five are the Deadly Viper Squad. Bill says half her name but you wouldn't know since it's something so simple.

It's one film and you just up and left the theater during the intermission. In all seriousness though. Kill Bill was truly meant to be one film, but during editing it got made into Part 1 and Part 2 thanks to Harvey Weinstein (if you haven't heard of him, go ahead and type that name into Google.... have fun). Tarantino planned for an epic 3 hour film while Weinstein wanted a 90 minute film so he had Tarantino cut it in half, turning it into Part 1 and Part 2.
