Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 The Last of The Starks

Dead wrong for this Cers, dead wrong!
<3 more coming ASAP :)
Yes, the time jump was long. But how many interesting things are going to happen during the time when they're traveling to Kings Landing? In seasons past there were other storylines going on that you could dive into during that, but now all that is left is the conflict between Cersei and Dany.

Looks like they said a lot of ish they just shouldn't have if they didn't want to contradict any possibie logic.
This is why ppl hate THEM most. Not the show. They're proven clowns.
I remember when I just stopped watching the behind the episodes because they just sounded so ridiculous.

We all saw the Dothraki being snuffed out during the Long Night, though. And in the Behind the Episode, the showrunners said it was the end of the Dothraki.

They went over the troops left over in the episode, but it’s pretty convenient that everyone lost about half.

Faceless men can read people pretty well and Arya can tell she’s not right in the head, which a lot of people thought about Daenerys when the series was coming out

Now......this is my opinion on it....though i can see it from other angles as well....I feel like Dany has been so obsessed with getting the Iron Throne that she can't see the hypocrisy in it. She is 100% right that Cersi is a usurper.....but so is Dany. Jon is the rightful heir through birthright whether he wants it or not. Dany is doing to Jon what Cersi is doing to her. She wants him to be quiet and let her rule while Cersi wants Dany to do the same. The big difference in Dany and Cersi is that Dany is trying to use love to manipulate the throne from Jon... Cersi is using fear and violence.
I have to agree with Varys. The best ruler would be someone who doesn't want to rule. Yes, Robert Baratheon didn't want to rule but he wasn't an honorable man. He only wanted to reap the benefits of being king for himself.
Now....with all that being said, I thought they should get married and rule together. Yeah yeah....she's his aunt but they're both Targaryen and it is a Targaryen custom to keep pure bloodlines. Not the worst thing for sure.
I can also totally relate when Arya said she didn't need many allies to Jon. I would rather have 2 or 3 ride or die friends than 20 who weren't.
Thanks for the reaction....awesome just like ya'll! Can't wait to finish and get into HOTD!

Looks like Dany just kinda…forgot about the iron fleet

the biggest thing for me in that scene is Cersei not killing Tyrion when he was standing right there under the arrows. For 5 seasons she has been obsessed with killing him, paying people off for dwarf heads... even has Bron currently "on assignment"... but now she just doesn't feel like it? And you can't use "she didn't want to start the war right there" as an excuse because that's exactly what she did when she executed Mel.

Don't look for quality storyline, quality dialogues and logic in season 8 especially. It started diminishing ever since season 5.
Dany missing iron fleet, not attacking from the behind, once intelligent Tyrion now stupid. Did you listen the way he reasoned with Qyburn? "I don't want to hear them scream". Once upon a time he was a guy who could find a way in any situation. Him trusting Cersei to change her mind through conversation is so stupid. Don't he remember what happened when he tried that last time with her?
Same Tyrion in season 7 told Dany that they will go to king's landing for truce talk with whole of Dany's armies and dragons. He suggested the city will burn down if anyone touch Dany. Why didn't he care for the people then?
If we look into lack of logic in this season, we have a pretty long list. But just ignore it. Atleast the show was fantastic in the first 4 seasons.

That’s not true Aegon the Conqueror’s sisters dragon was greatly harmed by a scorpion in the book Martin wrote. If you haven’t read fire&blood maybe you didn’t know that scorpions are used throughout history with success against dragons.

Arya's mostly sad that they have to burn up all those perfectly good faces.

Jon was always upset about being a bastard. Did you see the look he gave Dani when she legitimized Gendry? It’s not nice of her to condemn him to being a bastard for the rest of his life. His parents were married. He is Aegon Targaryen 6th of his name. He may not want to be King but he at least deserves to be legimatized and given something.
Jon has the better claim to the throne but He trusts Dani to do the right thing. That’s why he doesn’t want to be King he thinks Dani is the better leader for the people. As he told Arya/Sansa this episode. Tyrion also told Sansa that Dani will be a good queen.
Ned taught Jon too many good morales for him to lie to their faces when Arya is giving a speech about him being her brother. Bran is sitting there watching all this and seeing what Jon decides to do. Maybe that put more pressure on Jon to tell the truth.
The fallout of the announcement is Arya leaving Winterfell saying she will never return. Sansa betraying Jon by telling Tyrion his secret. Jon feels so loyal to them he wants to tell them who he is and they realize he is not their brother. It calls back to Jon telling Sansa he would protect her in Season 6. She says to him no one can protect me. No can protect anyone.
That’s why I love watching you guys. You definitely have a unique outlook of this show. It’s refreshing to see another perspective. The next two episodes are going to be epic and then it will be good to hear if your opinion changes or stays the same about Jon.
As I mentioned before, definitely recommend jumping into the first few episodes of HOTD right after this. It will help you process this show and learn more about things especially because it’s all about House Targaryen.
As Missandei said to Dani when she started work with her. Dani said you may go to war, you may be killed. Missandei said Valar Morghulis
Loved the reaction. ❤️

GRRM actually said that Dragons can't be harmed by any human weapons, and he didn't agree with how spears and arrows can harm them on the show.

It takes a month to get from Kings Landing to Winterfell over land. It’s different when traveling by sea or air. Season 1 episode 1 talks about the travel time. It’s taking Jon an extra two weeks because he had all of the army with him that’s why he wasn’t with Dani at Kings Landing. But this is another problem with Season 8. Someone is on one side of Westeros and 10 minutes later they are on the other side. They are rushing to tie up loose ends and kill off people.

Talking about why is it so easy to kill the dragons, these two have been locked up for years underground. Drogon flying around everywhere learned a little more. But none of them have been to war enough to know how to evade or even be afraid of something flying at them. They did see some battle in Mereen but even during the long night scorpion bolts weren’t being launched at them. Plus they were flying over Dragonstone. Rhaegal was probably less cautious thinking he was safe flying over Dragonstone. Dani was too distracted think someone would be waiting to ambush her there.
As you can see all the scorpions are mounted on to the walls of Kings landing. So in that scene Dani had Drogon back far enough to be out of range. Some of your other dragon questions will be answered in HOTD.

If Dany had "been a Dragon" like Lady Olenna told her, then a lot of lives would've been saved. Trying to spare the civilians cost her.

When I first watched I leaned more towards Mr. Octobers vibe about Jamie. As soon as he heard the dragon had been killed, I think in his head he realized there’s a good chance Cersei was gonna be killed soon so he wants to go there to either save her, or die with her

These 3 last episodes are carried by what we wanted to see yet the writting is a total joke and so is the execution... The ending is true to what JRR had in mind and is fine but the execution made it look shit. Also Varys is such a nice and clever character man

I don’t think you’re wrong, that makes logical sense but it just all happens so abruptly for me among many things with this season. Hard to say in detail while they have a couple episodes left but I think it’s a shame they take him on a 7.5 season incredibly well told arc and then totally backtrack in a couple episodes. It’s like many people said if this same ending had 2 seasons to play out it would’ve been way better received

I read that a whole different way. To me, Jaime came to the conclusion that he did not deserve a happy ending after all he did. By regaining his honor, his conscience got the better of him. That speech he gave Brienne was full of self loathing.

People really expects Jon and Dany to make logical and smart decisions. Dont forget they are kids, plus ive been saying this those Targs are so confident and emotional to their demise. Happened to Viserys, Jon almost died fighting the wights that also killed Viserion and then Dany who was so distracted by the throne and Jon. Btw are yall not doing history and lore?

You definitely picked up on some of the things that make people dislike season 8. Danerys flying over Euron’s fleet and not seeing it, Euron’s sharp shooting, Jaime’s character arc dropping off, the respawning of the Dothraki…just a bunch of dumb decisions by the showrunners.

Also why does SHE not trust Dany? She’s idolized Targaryen women from the past according to her scene with Tywin. She meets one, is apparently entranced by the dragons, sees her fight in the war both on dragonback and on foot. Yet she doesn’t trust her because…. She’s not a stark??

Arya’s dialogue “that’s alright I don’t need many allies” makes me wanna punch her, like girl without allies you wouldn’t have been able to leave King’s Landing and survive your journey, without allies your family wouldn’t have been able to retake Winterfell and dominion over the North, without allies you’d have never been able to survive the Long Night, a little hypocritical for you to say so after you’re home safe and surrounded by family. I still love her tho but at that moment she pissed me off
