Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1 & 2

BACK WITH GOT BABY!

Loving the start of this season! It is so captivating!

Are there any episodes we should do single this season? Noticing they are longer than other seasons!

Thanks for the continued support! Love you guys <3

Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1 & 2

Comments

I loved every seaon al the way up to the end tbh

Elena de Haan

Named my silver tabby cat Nymeria 🤍

Becks

To be fair - House of the Dragon doesn't really feel like a prequel. It doesn't bang you over the head with a bunch of call-backs to GOT. There are some connecting elements (like where the name "Second Sons" comes from) and one throughline. But it really doesn't feel like a prequel

Crissi

Connor McGregor was going to be an iron islander in Euron's crew, but he dropped out to focus on a fight.

Chris

I’m from madrid Spain, my boyfriend is from bilbao and dragonstone was film just there in Bermeo. Also the tower where lyana gives birth is in Burgos Spain (torre de Mesa Roldán) and there are some other locations in Spain..

Agitprop

just happy to be here :)

Mr. October

Love the pre-game rambling because it shows just how excited you are for the show 😉 Also love the energy level on these two episodes. Y'all musta hit some energy drinks or something lol Good to see ya hyped. Great reactions!

Sir_Dalagad

Don't listen to the haters. Seasons 7 and 8 are good, just not what they imagined it would be and all their little fan theories didn't come true.

Robert

"Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1 & 2 2 days ago BACK WITH GOT BABY!" I read that as Baby got back? And I pondered a second on who had a big butt in GOT. Couldn't think of one and then re read. LOLOLOLOLOL

Annie Bonz

That Carolina Reaper has got to be horrible for you lol Mr. October called it..Issues

Chaz D

Finally, a GOT reaction. Feel like I haven't watched y'all in a month lol.

sOMbr

I wasn't referring to what you wrote Charissa, it was more about McC, who went into a diatribe about everything lacking in the last couple of seasons. I like your comments, always well thought out and delivered in a classy style. I just want them to experience it the way we did back when it was first released, but I guess that is not really possible. Have a great day!

Peter K

And notice how I said don't like *something* because "not liking something" doesn't mean you "hate everything". Its. It's not waffles v pancakes. And not liking something or asking to consider it doesn't mean "don't ever enjoy anything". Does that make sense because now I am even more confused than when I started this rambly response 😅. They can like everything and I'm still probably going to info dump on the stuff I personally didn't, and if they don't wanna hear that they can say so themselves, right?

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Peter K. This comment is confusing because I don't conflate stating what is wrong with something they viewed as "telling them not to enjoy it". I don't see saying I didn't like it as saying "they shouldn't like it". You must though if you're worried about it? I absolutely cannot fathom someone explaining why something or other is likely inaccurate or was influenced by BTS stuff or was bad writing to them as saying explicitly to them "stop enjoying it", "hate this". 😅 I was just recently dx'd as autistic, nothing in the world brings me more pleasure than analyzing the ever living shit out of everything. It was EXCITING to me to see how different the show is from the books. Complexity and nuances EXCITE me. It brings me joy to consider how something came to be whether that something is disappointing or not. I personally don't exist to be satisfied in any other way than to have knowledgeable details about things and their inner workings and complexities. I can both absolutely love this series, which is why I am even here, and dislike the way it turned out in many ways. I can do both at the same damn time. Imagine that. I actually love all your thoughts, because it gets me to think more about my own. I love the complexity of even this conversation 😂. I think maybe you're the one projecting and insisting, while I am simply just saying what's what, for people to take or leave and giving my opinions. I'm experiencing, and reflecting on my experience, just as they are. Brooke said she loves hearing details. I love giving them. Tony seems to like the big picture. I like contemplating it too. I think these two can come out with a full experience of yin and yang and be satisfied as they determine on their own, just fine, while hearing whatever. I'm now afraid they won't like something and someone like you will tell them it's not their authentic feeling simply because you don't agree it should be disliked at all. So here we are 😆.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Lmao I forget Ed Sheerans scene is in the first episode. This show is so downhill by here it hurts haha

The beginning of the end

Josh Viz

There are callbacks to season 1 throughout all of season 7 and 8. It was the writers reminding us of where the story started and how it’s ending. Jon choking Little finger the same way Ned choked Littlefinger in Season 1. Then Jon leaves and it cuts to Ned’s statue looking on. As mentioned above, Arya seeing Nymeria and saying that’s not you as she said to Ned in season 1. Seeing the dagger from Season 1 in the book before Sam turns the page recalls what happened to Bran and the Direwolf defending him. Jorah returning to Westeros, in Season 1 they talked about going home. Now they are both in Westeros. Like the R+L video you guys can see how there are all these little hints sprinkled in from the very first episode. The writers have to wrap up all these stories quickly and they are trying to bring all these events and words together to have things come full circle. If you have time maybe you should lightly skim through your YouTube edited season 1. That way it would be easier to recognize some of them, if you are interested in doing that. The actor playing Euron is a long time friend of the actor who plays Jamie. You can see their chemistry as they know each other so well in real life. The guy playing Euron used to be a Kindergarten teacher! Lol. Loved the reaction. Can’t wait for the next one.

I❤️movies&tvshows

Dragon stone is filmed in Spain. The castle is CGI but the walkway and the beaches are a real place. King’s Landing is filmed in Croatia. And a sound stage in Belfast Ireland

I❤️movies&tvshows

I’d say maybe after each even-numbered episode (2, 4, & 6), which would align with the double-up GoT posts. Episode 7 could stand alone.

Chris Knuth

3 and 4 are both packed full of things you are going to want to talk about and digest. I’m saying 4 alone because the episode moves so fast that you will need time to process it. Also, One thing with these last two seasons is there are minor time skips for traveling. One minute someone can be standing at one place in Westeros and ten minutes later that same person is on the other side of Westeros. You have to get used to it. These writers are in such a hurry that a months journey can be made in ten minutes.

I❤️movies&tvshows

I agree

I❤️movies&tvshows

Hotd is a different story in a different time period. It’s not a typical prequel. There are some things that connect. But it doesn’t feel like a prequel. It feels like two story’s that could easily stand alone if you hadn’t seen the other one before. The basis of it is more centered where GOT has 4-5 different stories going on at once. So even the format is different but still amazing. Miguel directed the whole first season of HOTD so his influence brings that same intriguing edge of your seat type of show that sucks you in.

I❤️movies&tvshows

7x4 needs to be an individual episode. Like 6x9 was an individual episode

I❤️movies&tvshows

It was a birthday surprise for Maisie who plays Arya.

I❤️movies&tvshows

That's me! 🐺 (but I'm not the same castle living wolfie you used to know back in the day). In the later seasons, seeing some of the different plots and characters come together and develop is something I enjoy too when we have those call backs or interesting interactions.

Nymeria Stark

I was happy for the scene with Arya and the Lannister soldiers. I think it was meant to show the audience most of them are not inherently bad people. I'd wager that many of them are good people, they don't care about Cersei nor politics. They have families and needed a job. They are not loyal to the Lannisters, they are loyal to Lannister money. They needed a job, they got hired, they went to work. This is what I got from that.

madgirlworld

The wolf was Nymeria. That's not you' is a direct reference to what Arya herself said to Ned when he painted this picture for her of the life she could have as a lady of a castle and marrying some lord and wearing a nice frilly dress. Arya's not domesticated, and it makes total sense that her wolf wouldn't be either. Once the wolf walks away, at first she's heartbroken to have come this close, and then she realizes the wolf is doing exactly what she would do if she were that wolf.

Teej

When Arya said "that's not you" to Nymeria, it was a callback to the first season when she told her father "that's not me" after Ned told her she would get married and have children.

madgirlworld

What can theon do but jump 🤨 attack all of them byhimself.. If i see my sibling in that situation and im in yaras boots id say that save yourself and jump.

Monkey D. Tomy

the best piece of star wars visual media available.

hashpipe

I just hope the folks that don't like the way this wrapped don't come here to tell the Os what is wrong with what they watched. If you watched their reaction to these two, you know they are truly enjoying it. And despite complex plots, every road comes to an end. And unless or until GRRM finishes his story, its been 14 years since the last one and he ain't no spring chicken, no one knows how, or IF, he will end it. I just want them to form their own opinion, and it sounds like they are skeptical about all the criticism they have heard. If they don't like something, they always let us know. From what I remember, while it was running, people remained invested and enjoyed it. As proof look up GOT viewing parties on YT, plenty of people were loving it up to the very end.

Peter K

Mans hating on prequels and hasn't had the privilege of watching Revenge of the Sith yet

Christian

Spoils of war coming soon!

Pete Befi

I remember reading somewhere that it was a surprise for Maisie Williams (Arya) who was a huge fan of his

Emily P

It was, I heard he lobbied the show runners for a cameo...

Peter K

Plus it takes place 172 years before the events of GoT, so to answer Mr.Octobers point on prequels, it doesn't really makes sense to start GoT at the point of HotD.

McC

The mother poisons people. She doesn't have the fighting skills her daughters do and is why she was told to stay below. I believe Theon was having a bit of PTSD, but if he would have fought do you think either of them would have survived? The entire fleet had been either killed or captured. If he would have fought Euron both of them would have died or been captured. So, while I don't think it was calculated I also somewhat don't blame the move he took, tho I know his sister must've been very hurt and felt very betrayed by that.

TealSummers

I'm almost sure that was him!

Mr. October

Thank you! Totally agree!!

Daniel

In the books they are tough, the show didn't do them justice. So that's on that. Edit: they're also still alive in the books and there's one more.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Everything you said about the BTS is true, but I'm starting to think some people just don't like complexity and prefer a more simplistic route to "satisfying payoff". The only thing that bothers me with that, is then how they'll assert that anyone who doesn't is "just high maintenance". I think we should all be clear on our facts, but I don't think we all need to be the same on our preferences, and that this sentiment went both ways.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

It is really incorrect what you said about it being HBO's fault that the last two seasons got rushed like a whiplash or a strike of lightning. (btw, people don't "think" it was rushed... It was, from every single metric, and storytelling standpoint, objectively rushed. Everyone knows this. Let's not mince words about that - We might as well debate whether rain is actually wet??). Anyways, HBO wanted 10 seasons (10 episodes each) to wrap up the story, but Dumb & Dumber turned it down, because they were in a hurry, as they had just been offered, by Disney, to write the next Star Wars movies, so they needed to end GoT quickly, and they were too narcissistic to hand GoT over to other writers who could take over, and wrap the story with the patience it needed. They rejected this idea too (GoT was theirs, and only theirs). So, to summerize, D&D turned down HBO's offer of ten seasons (btw they also ignored GRRM's plea to make it longer), and they also did not want to hand it over to someone else. So they wrote the shortened two final seasons in a flash, and they were poorly received, especially the 8th one. SPOILER WARNINGS: They were criticed primarily for the rushed storylines, the forced plot-development and having characters behave out-of-character just to make to plot happen, the decline in dialogue, the abandonment of in-built dogma's of the universe, thus unlocking fasttravel & Plot Armor, and the character-arcs that in most instances went nowhere, the many forgotten storylines that were dropped because there was no time for them, The freaking Ed Sheeran fan-service thing, and finally the overall dumbing down of the whole series that was once so rich and deep in complexities, nuance, with multilayered characters, which resulted in one-dimentional characters, who no longer acted like themselves, but rather only did things the plot demanded of them. There was no complexity, no grey zones. Everything was stripped down to it's bare element so that even an 8-year old could follow every single step of the plot. By the end, it felt like a completely different show, with more focus on having big battle sequences, and explosions, rather than having witty razersharp conversations between characters, and seeing them scheming, fighting & outplaying each other in the great Game of Thrones, which laid the foundation, and perfect setup, for the next big plot point, which was what made GoT great in the first place (it wasn't just explosions upon explosions - plot points, but no build-up). As a result of the horrific writing that laid at the root of the final seasons of GoT, D&D were both dropped from writing Star Wars. So, in reality, everybody lost!

McC

"That sounds like Ed Sheeran" lmao

Miguel Lugo

I love that small scene with Arya and the Lannister Soldiers. It really demonstrates that there are good people on all sides in this war. And that scene with the Hound gets me every time 😢

Emily P

Here's the thing about the last two seasons, and why I think you will enjoy them more than the critics, it starts delivering real satisfying moments. It started with Ramsay at the end season 6, as well as Walder Frey. As the subplots start to weave together, be prepared for a wild ride. I know many think the last two seasons are too rushed, but that was mainly HBO's fault. I believe the economics of the show in the last seasons, full grown CGI dragons are expensive, was the main reason they had to rush the end. I still think they did a good job overall, and I believe that they will enjoy it to the very end.

Peter K

Geez those sand snakes were so annoying always talking tough yet they’ve never beaten anyone noteworthy and to sum up their screen time they lose a 2v1 to Euron

Gnarlybudz

I would do 5&6 together as a set maybe

Amanda Sargent

My parents were just in Croatia and sent me pictures of the town they used for the walk of shame. Really beautiful area and super cool to see the differences IRL from the show. Apparently the film makers had to pay off a bunch of townspeople because they kept opening their windows during filming but that is just what the tour guide said.

hashpipe

HOTD is technically a prequel, but it doesn't really have anything to do with the GOT story.

Robert

Tyrion was definitely NOT the one who tried to kill Bran.

Louie Anderson

Please don´t do any solo episodes. Just get over with it... season 7 and 8 is... well :D

Daniel

I just wanted to say.....I know you both wanted to finish GOT and season 1 of House of the Dragon so you could watch it live for season 2.....but I would hate for you to cram in all in so quickly you couldn't enjoy it. You only get to see it for the first time once. There's only about 5 weeks until HOTD season 2 comes out and there's a total 21 episodes you'd have to watch by then. That is so much....I just wanted to say I'm cool with it either way and I'll watch it on your timeline whatever you decide that is. There's some great things coming up and I can't wait to see you guys reactions to it! Thanks for all the work you put into this! Great as always.

Jessica Houser

I recommend 4 and 7 as solo drops personally 😊

Emily P

God, imagine Sansa going to meet with Dany instead. Instant war

MacJordanT

Dragonstone exteriors were shot in Spain. Most of the King's Landing exteriors were in Croatia. North of the wall exteriors were in Iceland. Forrest scenes in Northern Ireland. In interviews, some actors would mention that they never worked in the warm climates. Maybe they were a little jealous.

Richard

wow never mention how many times someone says like again! it's all i can focus on now and you both say it a ton of times. and now i just started talking to someone and noticed how much i say it. damn it.

Louie Anderson

Hi everyone! Regarding single recordings, I think just episode 7 would be the solo drop, but nothing really in this season would warrant single reactions. You both rock and have a great day!

Chris Knuth

Dragonstone is shot in the north of Spain in San Juan de Gaztelugatxe but most of the show is shot around Dubrovnik, Croatia.

MO

When Arya said “that’s not you” to Nymeria, she basically going to when she told Ned in season 1 “that’s not me” to be a lady. Arya always wanted to be a fighter, a knight and Nymeria is just like her, she doesn’t belong in a castle but she’s free to do her own thing, live her life. Truly a full circle moment 🥲❤️

Sarah Wevers

Hope you guys had an amazing time with the family. As for GoT you asked if there are any episodes you should do single. My suggestion would be episodes 4, 6 & 7

Reaction Junkie

Hey guys. The ‘it’s not you’ line is a reference to season 1 when Ned and Arya were talking about Arya marrying a suitable lord and living a good life etc and Arya said to Ned ‘but that’s not me’……good reacting as always

Deepan Nathan

I love spicy food too! 🫶

Mitchell Roberts

Also "When people ask you what happened here, tell them the North remembers." Arya is such a badass now 🤣

Hitmon

Yoooo. I think you guys were talking about something or the previous scene during the Nymeria scene. When I watched it the first time it had my grown ass in tears and hugging my dog. Flashback to season 1, Ned Stark says to Arya “You will marry a high lord and rule his castle. And your sons shall be knights and princes and lords.” Arya responds "That's not me", and walks away. Present day, Arya tells Nymeria come back north, I'm here, lets go home. Nymeria, recognises her and walks away. Arya says to herself "That's not you". 🥲 Just ask everyone had a path set out for Arya when she was young, she knew she had her own path. Similarly, Nymeria knows she has her own path now and Arya knows it.

Hitmon

It’s 1:24 am for me, I’m in central California!

Becks

Looking forward to watching season 7 with you.As far as what episodes to watch singly the last episode of the season is a natural anyway as it will be on its own after three batches of two episodes if you keep to that system and I think it is the longest as well.

Tom O'Toole

lol its 3 am for us! what time is it for you?

Mr. October

Yay, excited to watch! Just laid in bed looking for something to watch and thought I’d check to see if you guys had posted the next couple of episodes! Great timing 🤍
