The Hobbit The Battle Of Five Armies (2014) Reaction

This was the end of an awesome trilogy!

It was so feel good and wholesome! We will miss middle-earth and we will really miss the journey we had with Bilbo!

What trilogy do we watch next? List some below!

The Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy

Definitely the first two Godfathers, the third...not so much. I'd also recommend the newer 4th Matrix movie added to the original trilogy, I thought it was better than 2&3...and it does round out the story.

I think you’re correct. The one ring hadn’t been seen for almost 3000 years at that point whereas there were still multiple known/used rings at that time (the 3 elf rings, and 1 or 2 dwarf rings as most of those had been destroyed by dragons or been reclaimed by Sauron)

Kale

I wonder if watching the new prequel first would be good. I know one reactor did LOTR after The Hobbit and it was a different experience.

all strong choices!

Jim Schmitz

I third this!

As for Trilogies may I recommend: 1. The Godfather, 2. The Matrix, 3. Star Wars. Would love to see you guys react to any of them haha

Reaction Junkie

For sure Hunger Games! I'm not sure if you've seen John Wick?

Hitmon

I've never finished reading the books. I'm a shit listener and reader. I prefer to just listen to YouTube videos of other people who know more about LOTR. I take the lazy route πŸ˜…

Hitmon

I think he didn't know it was Saurons ring. Otherwise he wouldn't have waited all those years to do something about it. I'm leaning towards he thought it was maybe another magic ring that sauron made for the dwarves or men. The lesser rings.

Hitmon

Mrs O has been listening to the Lord of The Rings Fellowship of the Ring audiobook on walks and it has been a good time!

Mr. October

omggggg. thats a good question. I think the one ring right? It's the only one that makes you invisible? We could be wrong. What do you think?

Mr. October

YES! I really want him to see it!

Mr. October

Do I remember correctly that Mrs. wanted Mr. to see the "Hunger Games" trilogy?

Jim Schmitz

100% that's the way I've been leaning too.

Hitmon

An underrated trilogy is the unbreakable trilogy. Unbreakable (2000), split (2016), glass (2019). Highly recommended these

The extended version did a better job laying Thorin to rest (he was buried with the jewel) and had some crazy extra battle scenes. Down the line you might consider the fan-edited version I mentioned in the first film comments. It removes all the extraneous material not in the book. (making a much shorter [approx 3:25 total] film, btw). No Tauriel, no Sauron and Dol Guldur, only brief appearances of Legolas, Alfrid, and Azog and very little of the final battle. But some of the extended footage was used. I enjoyed sharing this with you a lot. I like the idea of the Planet/Apes trilogy. Mr. Serkis does more excellent work there.

Jim Schmitz

He didn't know for certain until he returned from Minas Tirith and had Frodo throw it in to the fire. After his research there and reading about Isildur's account of finding the ring he had strong suspicions but still needed to confirm it. P.S. in the books the time between Bilbo's birthday party and him returning to confirm the truth about the ring... 17 years passes!

Kale

I watch LOTR and Hobbit movies once a year on one weekend but I still don't know if Gandalf knew if it was one of the Magic Rings or THE ONE RING. What do yall think?

Hitmon

Well, you weren't spinning tales. This was fast! Done and dusted.

Jim Schmitz

Jason Bourne! (Bourne Identity)

Victatchewan

I second this!

Kale

Yes, especially Jason Bourne!!

Kale

The newer Planet of the Apes

Ryan Reynolds

Jason Bourne or Mission Impossible series gets my vote

Echoes Of Malachor

Every time I’ve tried to watch these movies I’ve fallen asleep. Once in theaters & then again at a friends house. πŸ₯΄πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
