What a sad movie ya'll.....
Every second of this one hurt!
In the comics they referred to her as Wolverine’s sister because she’s a clone they just denied her the Y chromosome, so it’s more like being his twin than his daughter.

Nah Wolverine didn’t hook up with some lady. If you remember at the end of apocalypse the Essix company came in and took blood out of the freezer at weapon X facility. You don’t know who Essix is but he is better known as Mr Sinister. He is a powerful mutant hell bent on making the perfect mutant genetically.

Yeah. The Ademantium was poisoning Logan on the inside. All these years his body is starting to fail. Even tho his mutant healing ability is natural. Over time it couldn’t keep up with the sickness growing inside. The metal they coated his bones with

I don’t know if y’all remember Caliban from Xmen Apocalypse. He was the bald guy in Egypt helping Mystic and nightcrawler get ID’s. But he told them about magnito back on the rise.

The trailer has Hurt performed by Johnny Cash on it (I don't recall actually hearing it in the movie though 🤔) and it is spot on for the vibe of the movie. I'd say one of the best movie trailers I've ever seen. You might give it a watch.

The Reavers act as though they've been through this before because they have. They don't have fear of the mutants 'cause they're the ones who hunted them down before with Transigen. The lead guy said as much and that Caliban worked with them to do it. Could be why they have high-tech prosthetics or perhaps they got them before by choice in order to help even the odds against the mutants, after they'd been dwindled down by the chemicals put in the corn syrup. They were assholes in the comics too, if I remember them correctly.

I'm guessing you've picked up on this (I'm about halfway through the reaction) but Charles is not in full control of his powers because he has some degenerative brain condition. I forget which. That's what he needs to be medicated because he had a seizure (and yes, they are involuntary) and he ended up killing all the other X-Men. Logan's healing factor made it so he was the only one left. So, you wanting Charles to cut loose or have some control over his powers enough to defend them, he doesn't really have that kind of control anymore. He could help wrangle the horses while medicated, but that's a small fraction of what he used to be able to do. The medication keeps him from getting seizures (if the dosage is high enough), hence not killing anyone inadvertently, again. That's why the guy tracking them said that the government classifies his brain as a WMD. He stopped taking the medication to communicate with Laura and have a clearer mind. He was willing to risk potentially having a seizure, but Logan sees the destruction and aftermath and knows what happened in Westchester and he's not willing to risk it happening again.

We were straight up ugly crying in the movie theater when we saw this. It’s so utterly gutting! I hate hate hate seeing Charles go out like that. Such a cruel vision of the future, yet very compelling.

So obliviously the anamantium was never supposed to be in him so I feel like over the years this mutant healing just couldn’t keep up healing the body of the metal which is why I think I caused him to age as well as the the stuff the doctor was producing, he was putting chemicals in foods and drinks which is what had killed of the mutants

Hugh said this would be his final wolverine appearance for years and ryan reynolds had been publicly begging for him to return for a deadpool crossover, both as ryan and deadpool, it was a funny campaign for awhile with him and the fans trying to make that happen which is why we're now getting the Deadpool and Wolverine movie you said you already heard about. I imagine that will actually be the end for Hugh.

When this movie first came out I thought it was great. A year ago my father died of cancer and had dementia. He acted just like Charles when we first see him. I had to keep dad drugged up on morphine so he would go to sleep. I admit, that last week of his life was tearing me apart and I was praying for him to die. He finally passed and it devastated me. Dad's favorite movie was "Shane". That is the movie Charles was watching. Dad watched it on DVD one last time about a month before he died. This movie is a masterpiece but I find it hard to watch because it hits too close to home. Wow. I'm ready to get back to WandaVision and the MCU now. This was rough for me to watch, not because it wasn't good, but for the reasons I mentioned above.

According to the film maker, this movie is not canon, it’s just one possible future. This is not how the X-Men end. Also, did you catch that the “Westchester incident” was Charles having a seizure and killing the other X-Men? This movie is just bleak all the way through.

Also, I’m only like 20 minutes in, but you commented wondering if Charles threw the pipe “telepathically” with his mind…Charles is a telepath, but that only means he can *read* minds. He is not a telekinetic, which means being able to *move* objects with your mind…That is why Jean was more powerful than Charles; She was both a telepath AND a telekinetic 😉

I know in the X-Men franchise after Logan is Deadpool 2. For Deadpool 2 there is a “Super Duper Cut” version which is an extended version of the movie that I think is better than the theatrical version. I think it would be better to check that one out instead of the original.

And a bit of trivia in the comics, X23 or Laura does go on to become The Wolverine in that timeline. So that's a nice ending in what is a bleak time. This movie is loosely adapted from the Old Man Logan storyline. Very bleak man

I haven't watched New Mutants, even though I like the actors involved, because no one has said it was worth watching. I've even seen a couple of people say it was a waste of their time. Maybe someday the curiosity will get to me and I'll do it, but so far it hasn't.
I have seen Dark Phoenix and I largely think it is a waste of time also. For busy people, I'd say they can skip it, but if they're curious, I'm never gonna tell someone NOT to watch something.

Two years before we cried for Tony, we cried for Logan. Other reactors who have gotten into the X-Men movies over the last 3-4 years have felt the same way. Laila Naema, Sebscreen, Natalie Gold, Mary Cherry, VKunia, Addie Counts, and Alex Hefner didn’t have a dry eye by the end of the film.
Ashleigh Burton should be reacting to this hopefully soon. After that, she only needs to watch Deadpool 2 same for you guys.
In Days of Future Past, the X-Men were able to avert total disaster in their original timeline and prevent the sentinels from being created. As a result, when Logan said the events of the Statue of Liberty happened a long time ago he really meant long. He’s the only one who still remembers the old timeline.
However, in this new timeline, mutants are still going extinct. This time it’s not because of the Sentinels. Rather, it’s Canewood corn syrup.
There have been hints shown throughout the entire movie, but it wasn’t confirmed until Zander Rice brought it up. Any food that contained Canewood corn syrup such as the drinks and cereals he mentioned would reverse the mutagen because Alkali-Transigen would embed the counteragent into the genetically modified corn.
To add to that, Charles started losing control of his powers in 2028. In the process, he accidentally killed some of the X-Men.
As for Logan, it’s worth remembering that he didn’t always have metal claws. The reason why he’s physically struggling is because the adamantium had been poisoning his body. His healing factor fought the effects for so long, but the metal eventually started breaking down and poisoning his blood. As a result, not only has it affected his ability to heal but it’s also made him begin to age.
Some behind the scenes trivia:
1.) Hugh Jackman accepted a pay reduction in order to give this film an R-rating since he didn't wanna hold back on the violence this time around.
2.) Hugh would have two stunt doubles – one for Old Man Logan and one for his clone X-24. When Hugh would portray one of the two, the corresponding stunt double to the other character would step in.
3.) We’re in 2024, but this movie was made almost eight whole years ago. The car they used for the 2024 Chrysler E8 was actually a custom-made Chrysler 300.
4.) The comics used in this movie were drawn by Joe Quesada and Dan Panosian. Director James Mangold was allowed to embed comics into the movie as long as they weren’t actual issues that Marvel published.
(For me, this is also the first time I see comics in a comic book movie. The second time would be Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.)
5.) And finally, Dafne Keen was about 10 years old when she auditioned. She pitched in the idea to have Laura speak Spanish, and they gave her the green light. In real life, her father is British and her mother is Spanish. As someone who grew up in a Spanish speaking household, I felt that was a nice touch to her character.

Funny that you should use the term "hurt" to describe this movie when the trailer for the movie used the song "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. The TRAILER made a lot of people cry, if not tear up.
