I just want to add that most seasons (at least the first 6) has a similar structure, which is having ten episodes in each season. It typically uses the first 8 episodes to building the arc for the season, and then using the penultimate episode (the 9th) as a kind of climax episode, in which major storylines are concluded/resolved/colliding. Finally, the 10th episode will set up the next season, and will generally focus on placing all the pieces (characters), where they need to be by the start of the next season. This formula has been pretty steadily followed in the first 6 seasons of GoT. This also means that the penultimate episode, over the years, has gotten almost a reputation for being the 'big' , and sometimes dreaded, episode of every particular season. In season 1, in the 9th episode, named Baelor, Ned got executed, and in this season, we had the big anticipated showdown at the Blackwater between Stannis' fleet and Kings Landing.

You’re not meant to understand it completely, esp right when you’re introduced to it. Like Mr. October said, you just gotta keep watching and get more information.

Unfortunately, nah. :-/ The Starks have just as many terrible people aligned with them as any other place. And the South has just as many good people.

After each episode, fast forward past the preview of the next episode.. there a 5 minute explanation of the episode that you just watched, by the writers and cast. I always watched these the first time I watched and they're very helpful at pointing out things you may have missed.
