[Art] New Egee Refsheet!

Heya Flufferschnoots! I've been doing a lot more lore stuff lately and it's because I've finally fleshed out Egee's character in his universe!

This post isn't just unveiling his new refsheet. I want to shed some light on how the whole "Egee thing" works!

Who is dis new Egee

Egee the Tundra Wolf is my original original character! He's from a world that I'm still affectionately calling "The Egverse". It'll get a more official name soon. 😅

Egee isn't so much a standalone character but rather a character "arch-type". Or template, if you will. That's how he can become anything!

Tundra Wolves hail from the permafrosted north and are larger and bulkier than their southern cousins. Egee is only a Tundra Wolf by heritage though. He's actually a mix of both extant Canid breeds!

Character Archtype

The Egverse spans eons, so there's no "one-true Egee". For my writings, I categorize Egee into time periods: BfEgee is Modern-day Egee and Space Egee is Post-Modern. They look similar but their stories take place around 100-200 years apart!

Using a character arch-type sets a template of sorts when I perform. For example, Space Egee is perhaps more sinister than BfEgee but he still could be a good boy like BfEgee.

I'm still exploring and learning exactly what it means to "perform a character" but this helps me get into the right mindset. And it's really fun to design and act out characters!

Character Design

Some of you OGers might recognize his color and pattern. He's the spitting image of his own first ref!

I got this ref as a lovely gift from one of my first patrons but unfortunately I don't recall the artist's name. The original design of Egee was based on my Husky doggo from real life!

I got another refsheet years later and I tried a more pastel color pattern. I considered changing his species and a few other things but I like to keep my boy simple.

This is Egee's new current design:

His new 2024 design is very close to his original 2020 design except:

• He's got a new do & his hair is more versatile in general.
• He's got a Husky snow nose!
• His fur patterns are darker and redder.
• His whisker spots are visible.

Egee is typically slender at about 6" tall. He's got snow-white fur on on his front side, his backside is reddish brown except legs and his arms from his mid-bicep. He's has fine shoulder-length brown hair and dark brown paw pads. He has blueish eyes and a snow-nose!

The grey color on his back is his mixed heritage showing through! Egee is a Tundra Wolf at heart but he's mixed with Meridian Wolf, the much more populous and industrious of the Canid breeds.

What Happened to Egee the Husky!?

Egee's original design was based on my Husky dog, Ghost!

OG Egee was a Husky because that's what Ghosty is! But I've hijacked Egee and put him into my silly stories and he's evolved into something a bit more utilitarian. But he still has a Husky's personality at heart! 💚

I've already used the new Egee in role-plays (Barbershop Egee 😉) and it makes the imagination process a lot easier and so much fun.
