Egee Life Update

Hey there Flufferschnoots! Things have finally settled down and I want to share with you some updates on the real-life front!

First thing ~ I am officially a part-time content creator! 🎉 How weird. No way I ever thought this would happen but here we are.

For those of you that didn't know, I was let go from the job I had back in March after we were acquired. I had two other gigs lined up but they both fell through and haven't found work since. I started freelancing back in May but I'm not really a people-person so finding clients ain't easy.

What of Egee?

I began tracking OpenEgee channel growth back in June. By then, I had Floofy and Nurse Egee out and the analytics were looking quite good. I've been doing monthly projections and things still look quite good.

The caveat is that I can't maintain the cadence required to sustain these gains if I score a brand new full-time gig.

It's odd that Patreon's posts don't allow image captioning but above is the growth in views. You can see the views taper off when regular uploads slow down.

Luckily for everyone here, I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon 😅. The tech market is junk for jobs right now and my skills are very specialized in a way that makes it difficult to find a good fit.

The Duality of Egee

Another something that not everybody knows is that I have another bigger channel where I do tech and gaming stuff. I was super active on it 3+ years ago but I burned out and switched to OpenEgee. And found all of you. 💘

But lately, I've been wanting to get back into tech and gaming videos again. The great thing about 'em is that they are fun and super quick to produce. It makes for a nice cathartic break from asmr content!

A little while ago, I entertained the idea of producing multiple asmr's in a single week. Turns out, my poor ears need a break. Especially when the trigger is something harsh like mic scratching. Producing benign content like dry tech nonsense is great for that!

So, What's Next?

Last month I went crazy writing lore for the Egeeverse. Lore helps fuel my imagination for stories and just content in general. It was a huge cognitive effort but I did it so that I could laser focus on making really cool Egee content for the rest of the year.

That's right, I'm doubling down on ya boy Egee. I really don't see my tech career coming back and given so many people enjoy and support the work I do, it feels like the best thing I can do right now.

My freelancing stuff is still happening but growth requires a effort and, to be totally honest, I'd rather put that effort into Egee. I'm not to the point where I can 100% yet but I'm getting closer.

The Egee Shop plays a large part in bridging that gap but I'm taking things slowly. There's a lot of moving parts that I just don't know super well. I'm figuring it out though and I have lots of ideas for silly merch ideas!
