A Floofy Werewolf Finds You! pt5

Hey Flufferschnoots ~ I finally finished the video for pt5 of Floofy Werewolf Egee! I already talked about the content and background for it on the audio post here.

The video portion is a big milestone because it's the closest I've gotten to the original vision I had when I decided I wanted to do role-plays!

The vast majority of role-plays I've listened to feature one person, one microphone, and just one image. And it's often just a cheap commissioned character or background without meaning or continuity.

I played a lot of adventure & FMV games as a kid and I guess that format of story telling stuck with me. It's still used today in visual novels. Usually, it's a image of a setting or location a character stands there and jitters about. That's what I had in mind when I commissioned the first Floofy Egee!

Up to this video, I've used backgrounds from The Sims 4. I didn't for this one because... the EA Desktop app stopped working on Linux 😂. So I had to improvise. What's a game that is pretty, outdoors, and takes great pictures... Firewatch!

The day-night cycle is about 30 minutes long which is perfect for my role-plays. The game's art style is timeless and honestly just pleasant to look at.

I'm not sure how noticeable it is but the background dims when Egee appears and his graphic also dims as the day goes on. I think little touches like these help the scene feel more alive.

I roamed around in Firewatch listening to asmr until I found a place that felt like somewhere the Floofs would live. It needed trees, water, and hills near by.

The location is near Five Mile Creek in the furthest south-west quadrant of the map and it's not somewhere I had been in the game before. It gives me New England vibes and I associate it with mysterious magical stuff for some reason.

We now know that Egee is a member of the Floofy Werewolf Pack, he (and all of em) are magical, and they live in a place away from non-magical-or-floofy beings. I think I might chisel away at the lore in another post sometime and you can tell me what ya'll think.
