Shallow Sleep progress!

Hello my gemlins~!

This month I put all my available focus into getting the storyboard for Shallow Sleep done and I've finally been able to make good progress 🙏

The image above shows the first 4 chapters (70+ pages) I have prepared now and can start sketching, inking and colouring soon! I'd like to get storyboards done up until chapter 6 first though, so that I have a really big chunk of pages waiting for me. 

Storyboards are always the most exhausting part of comics for me, they need so much brain power and with Shallow Sleep I noticed how a part of me was constantly trying to shift away from what the comic is meant to be like, into something that I would consider "more marketable" and "more interesting to look at for the average reader" and it made me question my script a lot @ _@) I guess this is the downside of turning comics into a full-time profession, suddenly it's become harder to be self-indulgent, a small part of my brain will always be thinking about whether I can make money with everything I do or not.

However, Shallow Sleep was never meant to be that, and I need to really focus on my own vision of this story and ignore everything I know would "sell better", because this is a very personal project to me, it won't matter if it flops, I know the intended audience is very niche and I hope some people who read it will find something in the story that they needed to see, like I found a lot of what I needed in it over the years, too. Then I'll be content :3
It's something I want to get out of my system and for that I need this comic to be made without the pressure of performing, I can worry about that again with my next projects XD

So yea, working on these pages has been quite the struggle, the storyboard for chapter 1 took me like a month, halfway through chapter 2 I think I finally found my rhythm and finally I knocked out chapter 4 in one evening yesterday o _o);;; Tonight I tackle chapter 5!
