An update!

Hello my gemlins~

Since my life is currently revolving around all things apartment, I would like to share with you how my background process looks when it involves furnished rooms.
As I mentioned a few months ago, I made Kai and Jasper's apartments with homestyler.com and then I take screenshots of certain rooms/parts and just trace over them and adjust perspective sometimes if need be. It's been such a time saver and also a part of the process I really enjoy. Just brainlessly tracing lines is very relaxing, haha. I don't pay a lot of attention to details with backgrounds as you can see in the image above, the lines can look a bit wonky, it doesn't matter much to me, the colours will save it later on :') [also I really enjoy making the 3D versions of apartments!! I hope to be able to make use of this for future projects too, even if they're not set in a contemporary world ;;;;]

That said, I have one more page to ink for chapter 7, and then 8 pages to colour and render, I would love to be done with those by the end of the week but let's see how that works out ;;;;

Now I shall ramble a bit about my move and how things have been since then, feel free to close the page now if that's not interesting to you XD I'll see you in a few days! 💜

It has been a week since I moved to my new apartment and things did not go entirely as planned 😂

Whoever decides the weather chose the day of my move to bless us with a big ass snow storm that put pretty much put the entire city out of commission. Public transport stopped operating completely, people were out and about on their skis in the streets because there was no point in walking, and the movers I hired arrived late and had to shovel themselves a parking space before anything could begin, so already the schedule was messed up, haha.

Getting my old place emptied out went pretty smoothly, though and without casualties (except for one of my plants, I think it froze to death in the hours it had to spend in a cold truck ; _; RIP)

When the movers arrived at the new place they had to once again shovel snow for eternity, not only to be able to park but also the entire street to even be able to get the truck there 😭 I felt so bad for them.

Unloading was pretty quick once again and by afternoon they were done and gone and I was left to my own devices to sort out the mess of boxes and items.

First thing I did, before the guys had even finished their job, was to set up my PC and try if the WiFi works LOL;;; Surprisingly, it did!! I had internet right away which blew my mind because in the past that was always something that took weeks, if not months, to get sorted out!!

I do already feel at home in this place, and I think Fynni does too, he's been adjusting surprisingly well! It took him no time at all to let me leave the room without barking and whining, he knows which door to sit in front of when he needs to go outside and he understands which rooms are for work/leisuring, food and sleep. Such a smart old man ; -;

(This is his new bed for the bedroom that my mum sent us（´・｀ ）♡ It looks a bit small but he always sleeps all curled up anyway so it actually fits him perfectly and he seems to love it~)

For now the bedroom is pretty much the only room that looks even halfway decent.

The rest of the apartment isn't furnished yet, except for some leftover furniture I took with me from the old place.

My living room currently looks like this:

And it'll be a while before I can clean that mess up; I ordered a lot of stuff but it'll take some time until it arrives.

It definitely works for now but the stupid gym ball is not optimal LOL I can't draw in peace if I'm seated so bouncily, it's not helping my back either. The desk on the left arrived today and I'm very pleased with the quality so far. It was easy to assemble too :') The table on the right will be replaced with another proper desk in a few weeks, then I'll probably shuffle things around again a bit. But for now I'm pretty happy with this setup!

Speaking of things arriving - thanks to winter suddenly puking snow all over the place my kitchen delivery got postponed :'D It was supposed to be here last weekend but now it'll probably arrive at the end of February and who knows when the people I'm hiring to build it for me will have time.

So for the foreseeable future my kitchen situation will be as follows:

Any food that needs to be cooled is out on the balcony during the day 😂  It's not optimal but also not a big deal, I once spent almost two years in an apartment without any type of kitchen appliances (no sink, no fridge/freezer, no oven etc) and made it work somehow, so a few weeks of this aren't the end of the world. But I am looking forward to getting the kitchen sorted out, if only to be able to put my plates and cutlery and pans etc away and get rid of the boxes cluttering my living room ; _;)

Other than that living here has been wonderful so far~ Every neighbour I've run into has been very nice, I live very close to the park now which means Fynni gets to have a more enjoyable experience during walkies~~ and it's so much quieter at night here than where I used to live. All in all 10/10 would recommend XD

The one downside to all of this is that I'm having a hard time focusing on work these days ; _;) I'm making progress but it's slower than I would like, for once because I can't sit properly for longer periods of time and also because there's so much stuff distracting me, like calls with the energy suppliers, getting my mail redirected, registering my new address, being available for DHL deliveries at all hours of the day only for them to not show up :'DDD etc

I won't let that stop me from working of course, but I hope I'll get everything sorted within 4-ish weeks so I can properly get settled and put my focus where it needs to be again (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
