Redefining The Channel

I could go on & on about how weird this year has been for the channel but I'm going to try to keep this post focused on what the channel has become.

Here's a quick timeline:

2014 - 2016: Linux Gaming Reviews & Benchmarks

2016 - 2019: Linux variety & experimental stuff

2020 - Current: Linux-oriented series' & Live Streams

Looking back, I feel like I've completely (and inadvertently) re-invented the channel in 2020.

I actually got the idea to do the Distro Delves as a series back in October of 2019 after I got my wisdom teeth removed. I was incapacitated on the couch watching AVGN episodes and it occurred to me that I prefer certain seasons over others. But also that I was actively seeking out videos that were many years old.

Funnily enough, I got into Live Streaming after watching Mike Matei Live, who is a writer for AVGN episodes. Mike is a huge influence on my style and I look up to him more than probably anyone else on YouTube. English Bob was another big influence and I've been a fan of his Linux stuff for years.

So now in 2020, I primarily do Distro Delves and Live Streaming with some irregular series' here and there (Install.sh, Brunchmarks, etc).

This is the most fun I've had making videos on YouTube and it means so much that people in the community are entertained and interested enough to actively support me, either on YouTube watching my videos, chatting in live streams, or even just reading & liking these blog posts!
