When I started out on YouTube, the Egee channel was just called "Ethereal Gaming" and I intended for it to be a Linux Gaming channel. The name "Egee" comes from "E and G" from the old channel name.

In 2017 - 2018, I noticed that many (most?) popular Linux channels were usually based around a guy, talking to the camera about Linux; the focus being the personality rather than the technology.
I made the conscious effort to not fit into that mold.
Egee has become a thing that people can relate to or refer to without being anyone specific.

The furry community is a very warm, welcoming, and open community and I felt it was a perfect fit for what I was striving to do.
And I was surprised to see just how many STEM and tech professionals there are in the fandom!
Performing as Egee in videos gives me the freedom to flex and behave in gregarious ways that the "real me" wouldn't. And it's also a lot of fun!

I don't know if I would say that Egee is me since I didn't create him to look like me or anything, but Egee's personality, attitude, and opinions are the same as mine, if not slightly exaggerated if that makes sense.
People who know me personally and watch my videos have told me I don't sound the same in-person. If you've seen my Live Streams, that is probably close to the "real me" but I think everyone puts on a "speaking voice" when talking to an audience.
So yeah, that's Egee!
