Why I don't respond to unsolicited messages
Added 2020-03-27 01:46:13 +0000 UTCI frequently get message requests on places like Twitter, Discord, etc, and rarely if ever respond to them.
Why?
The biggest reason is that I simply don't have time to talk & answer questions from everyone, especially if it is the same set of questions are asked over and over again.
The second reason is that private messages are not a good place to ask technical questions. Ask me on Twitter (a Tweet rather than a DM) and I can answer in a way everyone can benefit.
I know most people realize that it is not appropriate to private message seemingly random strangers on the internet with questions, but the people who do partake in this activity tend to be surprisingly rude.
I know etiquette isn't a "standard" but sometimes I am shocked at how blunt some private messages are. And that's a reason itself not to answer, let alone open some of the messages I receive.
That being said, if you do want to chit chat or have a conversation with me, Patreon is the best place to do it! Either in the comments of a post like this one or direct messages straight through Patreon!
I'm not trying to be aloof or rude with these boundaries - I'm trying to stay sane! 🤪

Thanks man! I don't have many (any?) moderators for the steam chat and I've been really pleased that people tend to be very civil and respectful on there!
