I set one goal for myself last week - to produce a video for the Egee channel.
And I missed it. 😩
The video was very technically challenging to produce and basically, everything about it took way longer than I expected.
I was sort-of writing the outline/script for the video as I produced it and I kept changing my mind on what exactly I wanted to focus on in the video.
I had a mini-existential crisis while writing it:
"What exactly is this video about? What am I trying to communicate in this video?" 🤔
I wasn't able to answer these questions to I've effectively shelved the video until I can.
So.. what's the video about?
I've been really inspired by the feedback from the Distro Delves series and I want to have another series focus on the technical side of things.
For a distro review, I'm communicating my thoughts about a certain operating system. Pretty straight forward.
But for a video that digs into the technical & performance aspect of things, exactly what is being communicated?
The video could be for entertainment purposes... Benchmarks are fun, right? But I feel like that would mean the resulting data meaningless, in which case, why even show data or numbers at all?
I haven't officially announced the Brunchmarks series yet and I still have time to figure all this out. But if you guys have any thoughts on this, feel free to let me know! 😊
Patreon or Ko-fi?
I posted this here on Patreon and Ko-fi. I want to encourage folks to use whatever platform they are comfortable with and to be honest, I see more traffic on my Ko‑fi page than I do Patreon.
I value my supporters on Ko‑fi and Patreon both and I don't want anyone to feel like I'm abandoning them or a particular platform!
