Sketch collection | April 2019

Rejoice, the sketch collection finally returns! Between the last one and this one I had like 2 months in which I either had zero time or energy to sketch pretty much anything outside of comic pages but in April, after being out of commission for a little bit, I decided to take some time to familiarise myself with my tools again, and I'm actually really happy with almost all of these sketches, they were fun to do and I feel like they very really helpful as well.

So, without further ado, here we go! (please note 95% of these doodles are highly, highly referenced, as my goal was to just draw and train my art muscles without having to use my brain too much to come up with any ideas myself)

The sketch of Kai and Jasper is almost a finished illustration right now that I had planned on maybe using for a print or something but then I got insecure because the pose was taken entirely from a photograph so I'm not sure if I should actually turn it into a product to sell. That thought discouraged me a little so I still haven't finished the drawing, but maybe I'll pick it up again at a later time. Other than that, not much to say about this page. Except I love those shoes a lot, lol.

Another shoe?? Also I love that Jasper on the right. Most of the sketches I did were used to practise folds in clothing, and what better way to do that than to use your own characters for that to make it more enjoyable.

This and the next images are all iPad doodles! I'm still not used to drawing on that thing but it is a very different experience from drawing with my Cintiq, as much as I hate to admit it, it feels amazing and Apple created an incredible product! Left is my OC Kieran, right is.... uh, nobody in particular.

And lastly, some outfit sketches for the upcoming episode! I can never remember what each character is dressed like in the current scene so I have to go back and forth between pages a lot and usually I still forget some details, so this time I decided I'd just do a quick overview scribble that I can refer back to, and it's making things so much easier ; _;)! Will definitely keep doing that from now on. Fun fact - the middle one is for yet another new character who's going to be introduced soon 👀
